Hi I'm Tanner

I grew up in Springville, Utah. My parents are converts to the church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

During high school I participated in football and track. Sports have always been a big part of my life but I also love doing anything outdoors. I love to hike and recently returned from a Himalayan trek in Nepal with my mom. I enjoy helping others and getting to know people of all different backgrounds. I am currently serving a mission to serve in Xalapa, Mexico.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the great examples I have been around growing up. My parents were converts to the church early in their marriage and have encouraged our family to be active in the church. My parents did not force us to be active once we got older, but instead gave us responsibility to make the choice for ourselves. At first I wasn't very active. I didn't have a strong testimony until I began to honestly study the gospel. I began to attend meetings and I could feel myself changing for the better. I found comfort and guidance through the gospel and it has changed my life. I know the gospel will bring me happiness, I know the scriptures bring guidance, and I know my savior lives. I don't know what track my life would be on if I had chosen not to trust in the gospel. Through trials in my life my testimony strengthens and deepens. I am so grateful for the church in my life, and the amazing people that have been examples in my life. If you sincerely search the scriptures, pray and live the commandments I promise that you will see how amazing the gospel is. It holds truths that people search for their entire life.

How I live my faith

I strive my best to live my faith by accepting others as Christ does. We all have flaws and no one has the right to treat others rudely because of a mistake they have made; instead, we need to support and love one another. I try to serve others in my ward when I can. I have chosen to serve a mission because I want others to experience the comfort and peace that comes from understanding the Gospel. I have been called to serve in Mexico where I will teach in the Spanish language. I am going to be the first missionary in my family and I can't wait to serve. It will obviously be a sacrifice to leave my family and friends for two years with limited contact but, because I have been given much, I too must give.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith was chosen by our Father in Heaven to restore the church that Jesus established here on earth. We believe in the words that Joseph Smith taught because he was a prophet of God who had the authority to lead the church. Show more Show less
