Hi I'm Joshua Bulpitt

I was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada before moving to Utah. I am now serving in the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission!

About Me

Hey, I'm Elder Bulpitt. I'm currently a missionary serving in the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission which covers the part of Missouri I'm in right now. Being a missionary is so awesome! I've only been out 2 months so I have a lot of good I still need to do out here while out here. As a missionary I know that I am doing the Lord's work by preaching, teaching, and ministering to His people all day every day. Previously, for the last 6 years I've been living in Utah Valley, Utah with my family. Before that I was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada. It was quite the change moving to a new country but I know that my parents were inspired through prayer and fasting to make this huge decision. While living in Utah I was able to complete my Associate's of Science degree from Utah Valley University before leaving on my mission as one of the new 18 year-old servants of the Lord. I'm so grateful for my life and the opportunities that have been granted to me to grow and learn while in this life. I love bike riding, reading, playing video games, and swimming. For the two Summers before I left on my mission in 2013 I was able to be a lifeguard. I enjoyed my job because I knew I was there to help warn and protect--even to save if necessary--the people to who were entrusted into my care. As a missionary I feel a similar responsibility as I go out to teach, preach, expound, and exhort, as I help others come unto Christ and be saved. How great is my calling!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born and raised in the church I still choose to follow it and be a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It's not always easy but I know that as we sacrifice and give on behalf of our Savior, our faith and love for him and for others grows and grows. Before I came out on my mission I really had to decide whether I was choosing to go out for the right reasons--whether I knew for sure that the church and its teachings were true. I'm a pretty logical person so at times it was hard as doubts or questions were raised. It's so easy to go online or to talk to people with negative things to say or with their own reasons why they think the church is true or why their beliefs are superior to others; however, when it comes down to it, it's all up to us. It's all between us and our Heavenly Father. So I prayed, I fasted, I studied the Holy Scriptures--both the Bible and the Book of Mormon--, and most of all I listened and I felt. Sometimes we can spend days, months, or years looking for a solution to our problems or an answer to our questions; but, if we never take the time to listen and open our minds and hearts to the counsel provided to us--especially the counsel provided by the Holy Spirit--then how will we ever learn. I stand here today with a testimony more sure than ever that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Redeemer, and Divine Creator of the world. He Lives! I know that God our Heavenly Father cares about each one of us so immensely that he sent his only begotten son. I know that the prophet today is called of God to lead and guide the authority and principles of the true church of God here on this Earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God and is solely for our benefit and learning. I know where I came from, who I am, and where I'm going and I know that you can too if you sincerely ask our Father in Heaven in the name of His son Jesus Christ. He lives and loves us all.

How I live my faith

Church is awesome and has always been a part of my life. I love how everybody plays a role in the congregation and we all are working towards the same purpose--to uplift and assist one another on our path to live with God again. One of my favorite assignments in the church before I left on my mission was being called to lead the council in charge of planning the year's youth conference for over 300 youth (ages 14-18) and their leaders. I went to a lot of meetings and got to work with a lot of awesome people and in the end it turned out awesome and is still one of the best times of my life. I loved going away up the canyon with other youth with the same standards and beliefs who love the Church and who love God. It was inspiring to work with and hear from many of the leaders and speakers who we set-up to come give devotional lessons that inspire us to be better tomorrow than we are today.
