Hi I'm Susan J. Groesbeck

I love playing in nature, good food, books and movies, and being with my family. I'm a wife, mom & grandma. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to be active. Tennis, waterskiing and snow skiing make me happy. I've taught step aerobics for 25 years. I've traveled to South America, Europe, Mexico, Canada and Australia and I would love to see more of the world. I love fabric, sewing, decorating my home and making quilts. A good book is a great friend but has to be gripping enough to keep me in a chair. Life's pleasure of eating good food has taught me the joy of creating in my kitchen. My husband, children, grandchildren and siblings are most important to me!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a descendant of Hyrum Smith who was one of the first 6 members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. So I come from a long line of committed Mormons. Since I was a child, singing songs about Jesus, I had a warm and wonderful feeling that I was a child of God and that he had great love for me. I was raised by parents who always put their family first and taught us to understand that we could have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. My family has been a great source of strength always. My family has taught me to have confidence that I can do most anything if I work hard and trust in God to help me. Having children of my own, taught me without a doubt that God exists. Because of my love for them, I more fully understand how God can love each of his children. He has a beautiful plan, with family being at the very center of that.

How I live my faith

Being with my neighbors on Sunday in church or on weekdays when we serve together brings me great joy and helps me understand how much my Heavenly Father loves me. I have been a leader and teacher of youth and especially Young Women for 25 years. The youth inspire me and I feel like they are especially valiant and saved to come to the earth now when the world is full of lots of people who are lost and looking for happiness in the wrongs places. Reading scriptures brings me strength and helps me figure out answers to my dilemmas. I love watching my children who are now adults and each one is making the world a better place in his or her own way. Being a mother has brought me more joy than anything and being a grandmother so far is even better! I have served in the community mostly in the schools as my children were in public school. Somehow I always end up as President of something or other. Mostly I have lived my life around people of my same faith, but I admire people of any religion who live with solid morals. I know I can learn something from almost anyone.
