Hi I'm Tara Kingsford

I'm a Wildlife Scientist, an Archer, an Adventurer, a Missionary, a Friend. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love Wildlife, tracking moose, deer and even wolves in Yellowstone and getting all that info. I wish I could just do that my whole life. That is my thing and what I have always loved doing. I love books and like to listen to books on tape, they are the best. I usually end up quoting them and no one knows what I'm talking about. I'm super stubborn and dedicated in everything, so if I want to do something then I WILL do it.That's why I've done a lot including: tree climbing, carpentry, welding, veterinary work, manual labor, gardening, irrigating, playing water sports, hike, rock-climb, traditional Archery, flintknapping, snowboarding, horseback riding, and so much more. I love inventing things, being a scientist and learning for myself. That's what this life is: Learning! But most of all, I love being a friend and a daughter. And right now I LOVE being a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Texas McAllen Mission!

Why I am a Mormon

No one wants to just open their eyes and find that they are in the middle of nowhere with no direction, map, hope and knowledge of what you're trying to find. I'm a Mormon because the Gospel is the thing that helps me keep my direction and gives me a purpose. I asked for help in knowing that God was there for me and he gave me an answer. I know it will lead me to the places I need to go, the people that I need to meet and the things I need to do. It keeps me honest, strong and on my path in life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by taking it one step at a time, going through life and trails and happiness. Science is the one thing that I love best, and the more I learn, the more my faith grows too. To me it seems too much of a coincidence that ONE little atom at the beginning of the universe made all of what is around us, but I take that in stride with everything else I learn. I try to do the best I can in my community, especially if they need help. I've helped people pull their stalled cars out of the middle of the road, in the grocery store, and at school with textbooks or homework. Other times its just been a smile, or a word of hello, or an offer of assistance. I live by just saying "Bring it on."

What is being a Mormon like?

Tara Kingsford
I love being a Mormon. Being Mormon doesn't make me a different person, but it makes me a better person. We focus on our families, read our scriptures, attend our church and do all we can to serve those around us and in our communities. We try to do all we can for those around us and that is what makes it all worth it, what makes us happy and joyful and better people. Putting others before us help us show our love for them and strengthens our own personal faith. Show more Show less
