Hi I'm Jacob!

I'm an actor. I'm a sports lover. I'm a singer. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have worked as a lifeguard for two years and loved it. I used to play a lot of soccer and even though I stopped, I still enjoy all kinds of sports. I was a student officer at both my junior high school and high school. Musical theatre is one of my passions and I have been blessed to be cast as a lot of characters, including 'Joseph' in the show "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and 'Cain' in the show "Children of Eden." I taught myself how to juggle, I love singing, and I can play the ukulele and piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the values in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are pure and how I want my family and I want to live our lives. I am a Mormon because it is set up the same way Christ set up the church when He was on the earth. I am a Mormon because there is a modern day prophet who leads and guides us, in word and in deed, helping us to know what God wants us to do and how God wants us to be. I am a Mormon because the LDS Church teaches the exact same gospel Christ taught during His mortal ministry. I am a Mormon because the priesthood authority that was on the earth during ancient prophets' ministries has been restored to the earth and is found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am a Mormon because I believe Jesus Christ has done more than just saved me from death and sin, but has also felt everything I have, has suffered everything I have, has literally stood in my shoes so He could perfectly understand me as He performed the Atonement in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross at Calvary. I know that He did that for me, and that He did it for all of us here on earth. I am a Mormon because I know all of these things are true. I have followed the guidance given from prophets of old, both in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon, to "ask and it will be given you" (Matthew 7:7; 3 Nephi 14:7). And it was given to me through an incredible feeling and an impression on my heart, mind, and soul: "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is My church." Through this incredible answer, I have hope for a brighter future during dark days. I have a friend who understands me perfectly when I feel completely alone. I have answers when I am confused. I have peace and comfort in times of sorrow and distress. I have happiness and joy in times of sadness and depression. I know these things because I have experienced them in my life. And I know without a doubt that you can too.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping the commandments our Heavenly Father has given to all of us through prophets both ancient and modern day. He knows what's truly best for us, even if we don't want it or understand it. He commands us to pray, so I do. He asks us to study the scriptures, so I do. He tells us to go to church, so I do. He He pleads with us to follow His Son, Jesus Christ by living the kind of life He lived. So I try. I know I'm not perfect, but I try. I don't understand everything I am asked to do, but I know that when I do those things I am filled with true happiness in my life. I am filled with a bright hope for the future. I know that when I put forward my best effort to do what He asks, His grace makes up the difference. I live my faith by trying to ask myself, when moments of decision come, "What would Jesus do?" I live my faith by trying to remember the first and second greatest commandments, to "love the Lord [my] God with all [my] heart, and with all [my] soul, and with all [my] mind" and to "love [my] neighbour as [myself]." I live my faith by going and doing. I live my faith by having and acting in faith.

Are Mormons Christians?

The answer is a resounding "YES!" Mormons ARE Christians! Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of God and we believe that through Jesus Christ, and only through Jesus Christ, we are able to be cleansed of our sins and misdeeds and become resurrected and perfected, to live on throughout the eternities to come. Along with the Bible, we believe in the Book of Mormon which is, as its title says, "Another Testament of Jesus Christ." It witnesses and testifies of Christ's Divinity, Life, Power Atonement, and Resurrection. We believe that Jesus Christ suffered not only for our sins, but also for our sicknesses, temptations, infirmities, weaknesses of the mind - everything. And through this inconceivable sacrifice made by the one and only perfect person to walk this Earth, we are able to be forgiven and perfected so that we may once again live in our Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ's presence. If this isn't Christianity then I don't know what is. Show more Show less
