Hi I'm Joshua Dwight Butikofer

I was born in Logan, Utah. I grew up in a Navy family and moved around a lot. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into the Church and was raised by faithful parents. My father was an officer in the Navy and we moved around a lot, living on every coast of the contiguous U.S. I have made many friends around the U.S. and have loved the many places I have lived. I have always liked to play any kind of sport that gets your heart pumping, but soccer has always been my love. I've played since I was 4 years old. I also have a deep love of music and play both the piano and trombone, with some occasional dabblings on the guitar. I also love going to concerts where I can see my favorite artists and jam out to their creations. From a young age I also loved building things with Legos which was probably what started my interest in engineering, which I hope to be my future career.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it gives me hope. Hope that I am not alone, that God loves me, watches over me, and guides me with a never changing course of righteousness. I love that we are taught to choose for ourselves and not compelled to. I know I have felt the Spirit, and I know I must follow its promptings to find greater happiness in this life and in the next. The gospel is about having eternal families; families that last forever. I love my family with all my heart and want to be with them and the future family I will have of my own forever. It is true, I know it.

How I live my faith

The thing most evident about how I live my faith is my decision to serve a mission. I will be giving up two years of my life to fully, without worry for anything else, serve the Lord with all my heart, might, mind, and strength. I will be seeking to invite anyone I can find who will listen to the gospel of Jesus Christ and strive to live what it teaches. As I teach the word of the Lord, I will also strive to live it and help my fellow brothers and sisters under God to live it as well. Another way I live my faith is by sharing the gospel with my friends. I strive to live morally clean in how I act, speak, and think around others. I know they will notice this as I strive to live as Christ lives.
