Hi I'm Danielle

I grew up in Minnesota, work at an amusement park, have five siblings, will always love art, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was a student at BYU-Idaho studying to become an Elementary School teacher, but I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the New York, Utica Mission. Over the summer I work at an amusement park in the cleaning crew and I love the people I get to meet each day. I love anything to do with art--music, dance, theater, drawing, sports, and movie-making. I hope to someday be part of the process of making a movie. I love my family of eight and all of my close friends I get to see each day. My hobbies include rollerblading, writing, taking pictures, being outdoors, and cooking delicious treats.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know that it is Christ's church and that I can receive the most light and truth from it. I know that what the prophets and apostles teach are true and I can feel of the spirit as I participate in ordinances, such as partaking the sacrament each Sabbath day. I have felt peace as I have read from the Book of Mormon and I know that reading it has brought me closer to my savior Jesus Christ. I have also had many experiences with the priesthood, or power of God, and I know that it is His power on the earth here to direct His church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping the commandments, coming to church, reading the scriptures, and praying daily. I try to find ways to serve those around me and I share my faith and testimony with the people I meet. When I can, I attend the temple. I am not perfect in doing all of these things, but another part of living your faith is repenting daily. I do this through daily prayer and relying on the Lord to overcome weaknesses. I strive to make goals and achieve them in each of these things. I feel the spirit prompting me to do random, little things each day and as I follow those promptings I am a lot happier.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Danielle
In the scriptures Christ went specifically to John the Baptist to be baptized because he had the proper priesthood authority. This authority is from God and gives worthy men permission to baptize. If we are not baptized by the proper authority, then we cannot receive all the blessings that our Heavenly Father has for us. Being baptized without the proper authority is still a good, worthy thing to do, but we will not have full access to the power of God in our lives. Show more Show less
