Hi I'm Ashlee Johnston

I flew out of a car and was given a 3% chance of survival and now I am going on a Mission. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in the Mormon Church. I had faith as a young girl but because of temptations when I became a teenager, I got involved with the wrong kind of people and began experimenting with drugs. This continued for a couple of years before God decided to intervene. At approximately 4:00 p.m. on September 3, 2010 my life was changed forever. It was the Friday before my sixteenth birthday so my friends and I decided to go and try a very addictive drug. My friend was driving and I was in the back, middle seat. She came to an intersection. In order to get to the town that we were going to, she had to cross a highway which had a speed limit of 65 mph. She looked both ways, but she didn't see a car coming because of the sun. She pulled out in front of a car that was traveling at that high speed. That car t-boned hers and on impact, I was ejected from the rear window. I went into a coma instantly. I was given a 3% chance of survival. I was in that coma from September 3-October 28. I woke up and I honestly saw life differently. Everything has been different from that day forward. I have gained a strong testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and I will be serving a Mission in December, 2013 in the Idaho Nampa Mission. I am so thankful to God for EVERYTHING He has done for me and I know I am here for a reason; as is everyone else. I LOVE LIFE!! I will be attending college in Rexburg, ID after my Mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for a plethora of reasons but the main one being, I have come to know of the knowledge that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's restored Gospel, for myself. I have inquired of the Lord and I now know of a SURETY. I would not dare to deny it. I continue to follow His Gospel every second of every day because I LOVE my Heavenly Father more than anything else. He deserves my all, every moment for the rest of my existence. Also, the members of the Church are so kind. When you walk into Church, you automatically feel at home. Along with this, members of the Church are constantly Blessed. Life becomes as God intended it to be as you live the Gospel; it becomes wonderful. You become Truly Happy. My testimony is simple due to the fact that as I live the Gospel, EVERYTHING falls into place. EVERYTHING works out for my good and for the Glory of God. It makes logical sense as you are Truly seeking. The Spirit will also testify the Truthfulness of the Gospel to you as you pray and read the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I absolutely LOVE the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. For, it is the TRUE CHURCH. I live my Faith mainly by being an example and following through with what I say I am going to do. I do my best to display Christ's love to all people. I will be leaving soon to serve a Mission because I, like Alma the Younger from the Book of Mormon, have had a life changing experience that has only ONE explanation. That explanation is that God is GREAT. God chastens those whom He knows will serve Him until the end. He loves all of His children so much and He won't ever give up on us. I serve in the Church by going out with the Sister Missionaries as often as I can. I would honestly do ANYTHING for the Lord. I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to be a member of Christ's restored Church. The Gospel truly Blesses our lives more than anything else ever could. I do know where I would be without this knowledge, because I have endured life being apathetic and not knowing. I am so grateful for that though. I can now relate to those in darkness and I realize that I am SO Blessed. Jesus Christ invites ALL to come unto Him. It doesn't matter who you are or what you have done in the past. He came here to redeem ALL of Heavenly Father's children.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Ashlee Johnston
We do not worship Joseph Smith the Prophet. We worship God our Eternal Father and we worship our Savior Jesus Christ. We revere Joseph Smith and we truly appreciate His sacrifice to restore the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth in the last dispensation of time. As we look around in the world today, we see that we need Truth. God knew that times would get this bad and He worked through Joseph Smith who was a prophet at that time to bring His children the Truth. Ever since Joseph, there has been a prophet on the earth. We have a prophet who leads and guides this Church today! We do not believe God would leave us without one in these days, when we need one the most. Thomas Monson is also someone we love and respect greatly. Show more Show less
