Hi I'm Victoria

I'm a sophomore studying dance at Brigham Young University. I'm preparing to serve a full-time mission in January.

About Me

I love good music, good food, and quality cat puns. I'm currently a sophomore majoring in dance at Brigham Young University. I love adventures and being outdoors. I like naps, hot cocoa, hiking, and letters. My favorite place in the world is either the beach or the lake, where I can just relax, listen to music, and have good chats. I enjoy being with my friends and family. Board games are the best. Bananagrams? Don't get me started. I'm currently preparing to serve a mission in Montevideo, Uruguay for a period of 18 months. I leave at the end of January! I am so beyond thrilled to go preach the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but have always pursued my own testimony of the Gospel. I don't believe in just doing it because everyone else is, or it's expected of me. My parents never pressured me, like many believe happens in our religion. Instead, I read the Book of Mormon myself and prayed to know it was true. I receive a confirmation of the truthfulness of the scriptures every single time I read them. I know with all my heart that this church is the true church. I know that when I pray to my Heavenly Father, He listens and blesses me endlessly. I don't know where I'd be today without the knowledge that I have a divine purpose and that I can return to my loving Heavenly Father someday. This is because of Jesus Christ, my Savior. He atoned for MY sins, and everyone else's. Whenever I am feeling low, I remember Christ has been lower. He knows exactly how I feel, and if I turn to Him, He can always help me overcome it. He was perfect, and He will always be my example. My absolute favorite part of the Gospel is that families can be together again. That is just one of the amazing gifts we are given. I can be with my family for eternity! That's so amazing! I love this church and I love how it blesses lives. I'm so grateful for it in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving within church and the community. I love to serve others and make other people happy. Being a member of this church, I have so many opportunities to serve others in the community and make the world a little better. I also have taught the women in my ward, and now I teach doctrine classes. This helps me learn more, and grow as a person. Going on a mission, I can teach so many others about this Gospel. Not only that, but I get the opportunity to serve others in another country, who may really need it. I love that.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Victoria
We are placed in families to grow and learn here on earth. We learn to practice love, service, and so many other important things within our families. Families can definitely bring challenges, but there is so much happiness that can be attained within the home. In the home we are reared in righteousness, and protected, cared for, and loved. The family is such an important part of God's plan for us. Heavenly Father made it possible for us to live with our families again, which is so amazing. We hope each day to put forth the effort make our families stronger and happier. Show more Show less
