Hi I'm Wess

I am a husband, father, grandfather, public higher education advocate and I AM A MORMON!

About Me

I’m a BYU alumnus and Cougar sports fan! My wife of 29 years and I have four children and two grandchildren. I have worked over 25 years advocating for public higher education doing governmental relations to meet society’s workforce needs. I enjoy long walks, relaxing dinners and visiting museums and cultural places with my wife. Most importantly, I enjoy being with my family and playing with my grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a wonderful legacy, a great heritage, a noble birthright! I was born of goodly parents that raised me in the traditions of their parents. All four of my grandparents were born into family’s that were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But, like any convert of the Mormon faith, I too had to test and gain a personal conviction of my own beliefs. The motto in my life was taught by the great prophet Joshua in the Old Testament who said, "choose you this day whom ye will serve...but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." I have strived to walk with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in my daily life and keep His commandments in all my doings.

How I live my faith

I believe that the strength of our society is found in the strength of our families; and that the foundation of a strong society is an educated citizenry. I have served my community as a school board member and as scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America for many years. I am currently serving as bishop in my congregation where I worship my Savior, Jesus Christ and serve my congregation.
