Hi I'm Cody Johnson

I'm from the St. Louis area. I play lacrosse. I'm serving in the Argentina, Buenos Aires South Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Illinois pretty much my entire life. I played collegiate lacrosse for 2 years, and more recently, I've been called to serve a mission in the Argentina, Buenos Aires South Mission. I will teach the gospel of Jesus Christ in the Spanish language. I'm excited to go serve the Lord for 2 years and help those who may be looking for the gospel in their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been asked this question my entire life and before, my answer would go along the lines of saying, "Well, I was born into this faith so it's just how I've always lived." But one thing has really made me want to continue to live the Mormon faith, and that is because we all have free agency. Even though I was born into this faith, I still was given my right to free agency. I could have chosen not to be in this church a long time ago, but it was too much of a blessing in my life to make me not want to leave. In short, I'm a Mormon because it is how I want to live my life and it is how I feel Jesus Christ wants me to live.

How I live my faith

I currently am a Sunday school teacher for the 10/11 year old class. It's such a blessing to see young kids develop testimonies about Jesus Christ and His gospel. Of course, they can be pretty hyper most of the time so it's hard to keep them in their seats. Preparing to serve a full time mission also has increased my faith and how I live my faith. I've seen what a blessing it is in my life to follow the standards of the church. Although mistakes have been made in the past, I know that I can be forgiven of my sins, and as I prepare for my mission, it has become easier to resist temptation. Living my faith the way that Christ wants me to has definitely blessed my life and those around me.
