Hi I'm Ulia

I was born in Ukraine. I play the flute and love to travel. I'm serving in Mexico City as a missionary.I am Mormon.

About Me

My name is Ulia and I was born in Ukraine. When I was about two years old I was adopted by an American family in which I was raised in Utah. I grew as a member and I am really grateful for it. All through Jr. HIgh, High School and some of college I played the flute. I have played for many competitions, church activities and was offered a music scholarship at my college. My second year into college I wanted to do something different. I found a program on line in which you can teach children in other countries english. I found out that this program had Ukraine on their list and I decided to sign up. I was accepted into the program and I was able to go teach children for 4 months. While I was there in Ukraine I was able to find my biological family and meet them. It was probably one of the most amazing experience and blessing in my life. I was also very lucky to know that they were very nice and also so excited to meet me. To this day I am able to still keep in contact with them and share what I know and love about being a member. After my experience there I decided that I was not done serving others and I decided to go on a mission. I will be serving In Mexico City and I am very excited!

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of this church because with out a doubt I know it is true. This Gospel brings so much peace and happiness into my life. Everyday when I read my scriptures I can just feel the peace and the Spirit with me telling me that it is true. I am so grateful that there are others who also believe because knowing that there are others who believe just helps me see that God doesn't just love one or two people but that He loves everyone and He wants everyone to feel His spirit and be happy in their life and succeeded. I am grateful to know that we are not alone and that God is there to help us a long the way.

How I live my faith

When I was done with high school I went into the singles ward here in my area. In my home ward I never really was called to any main calling so I would just get to know people. Now that I go to a singles ward my first calling was Family Home Evening coordinator. With this calling I got together with four or five other people and we would plan service and fun activities for our ward to do every other monday. Some activities we would combined with other singles wards in our branch so would could get to know more people. Some activities we did was visiting the elderly, giving out cookies to members who weren't able to always come to church. Fun ones we did were scavenger hunts. Scripture chances, and just game nights.
