Hi I'm Elaine

I grew up in Pennsylvania.

About Me

I'm a "granny" with four children and three grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

The missionaries talked to our family when we were active practicing Christians. Although I had unanswered questions about what my church was teaching, I was a teenager so I thought I knew everything about Christianity. Learning about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints only deepened and enriched my faith in Jesus Christ. There was so much I didn't know. Imagine, there is a living prophet today just as in the olden days! Why not? We need as much help as they did in ancient times. I had read about the Apostasy in the New Testament and wondered about it. I didn't know it had already taken place. I knew about the Dark Ages but had never connected that with the Apostasy. I have great respect for those people who sacrificed so much to bring about the Reformation. But a reformation is not a restoration. It just rang true when I learned that the early church that was taken from the earth was restored in these latter days. I always wondered about native Americans welcoming conquistadores as the Great White God returning to them. How wonderful to have the Book of Mormon, a book of scripture recording our Savior's dealings with the people on the American continent including His personal visit to His "other sheep" as he described them in the New Testament record. But, of all the things I didn't know, learning how to pray and directly communicate with our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ and receiving answers through the Holy Ghost has made all the difference in my life. It's been 50 years now since I was baptized and I'm still so grateful to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.

How I live my faith

I play the organ and piano for Church services.
