Hi I'm Hana

Reads Austen novels, watching animated movies, walking everywhere, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I had a challenging but wonderful childhood. My parents got divorced when I was eight and I moved around a few times. By the time I graduated form high school I attended eight different schools. I've come to love that fact. I was able to meet many of my best friends and learn a lot about myself through different school activities. I played basketball, volleyball, and tennis during freshman and sophomore year. The The remainder of my high school days was spent doing theater, choir, Speech and Debate, and Key Club. Besides these activities I also enjoy traveling, cooking, reading, photography, playing with my pets, watching movies, dancing, and karaoke. I am a student at Brigham Young University and want to someday work for an animation studio.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it helps me to get through life. We all know life has its ups and downs. Those downs can really kick us in the butt. Being able to have The Book of Mormon along with the Holy Bible, a true living prophet, and having my local wards provide great pillars of strength when I go through hard times. I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints but I don't consider myself as a life long member. The moment I consider to be my conversion was when I was at church camp. One of our leaders shared a story when he was a little boy and he asked his mom, "Is the church true?" His mom walked over, got face-to-face with him and said, "I believe it is true. But you will have to find out for yourself if it is true." What his mom said had a huge impact on me. It made me really want to find out if I believed the church is true. It was the first time that I read through the entire Book of Mormon. After reading the last word, I knew without a doubt that it was true.

How I live my faith

Throughout the week, I try to seek one way I can be of service to someone. Whether it be as big as helping with someone's yard work or as small as delivering a note, I know that service is a blessing to both the the giver of service and the receiver of the service. Every day, I always find something to be thankful for. In the weather, the people I encounter, how well I did on a test, when you make the effort to look, you will find many things to be thankful for. Along with being thankful, I am able to face each day with my faith. From my past, I know that God and Jesus Christ are always watching over me. They enjoy my happy times and stand right beside through my dark times. I know they are with me and everyone as we go on the roller coaster ride that is our lives. Even when I'm going through a hard time, I know that in the end it will be for my benefit. If it were not for the hard times, we could not know or appreciate our joys in this life.
