Hi I'm Melanie

I'm a mother of 5 with a set of twins. I love music. I play the marimba. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I live by the beach. This is the first year in 7 years that we have really enjoyed it. I have 5 children. Daughter who is 9, twin daughters who are 6, a son who is 5(11mths younger than my twins) and my baby boy will be 4 in November. I have been a wife for 7 years and love my eternal companion so! I am a stay at home mom. I love music. I am our ward music chair person which also makes me the choir director and ward chorister. I love it! I played the bass drum in high school and drum corps(one summer) and the marimba throughout high school and college(which I didn't finish). I love my Savior and I feel His love and compassion on a daily basis. My testimony of the Book of Mormon in reconfirmed each time I hear someone testify of the truthfulness of it. I love being a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I always knew the church is true ever since my parents told me so when I was little. I grew up and moved out on my own and had to find my real testimony. I never doubted the truthfulness of the gospel, I just had to figure out my role in it. My testimony is reconfirmed every time I testify of the truthfulness of it. Each time I speak of Joseph Smith or Jesus Christ or the love I feel from my Heavenly Father, that burning sensation in my chest just overwhelms me. I also get that feeling when a speaker is telling a story from the Book of Mormon and the thoughts of..."yes! that really did happen" fill my mind! I always wanted to raise my children in the gospel and with my husband, we are doing just that! I live for my children and want to have them all with me for all eternity, and because I am Mormon and have been sealed to them, I can be! It's not always easy, but it's always worth it. Repentance is key...The Savior gave his life so we can return to live with Heavenly Father. Allow him to do what He was sent here to do.

How I live my faith

As I said above, I am the ward music chair person. I am the one that begs people to perform prelude music. I usually use my kids instead. lol. They love it...for now. I get to pick out the music. I am given the topics and I pick the music to match. I love to sit through sacrament and feel just how the spirit moves and the music totally matches what the speakers say, most of the time. I love to really hear and think about the words of the hymns we sing! When you really pay attention, it can really touch your heart. I have served in primary, which is the program for all children ages 3-12, in several capacities. I have also been blessed to teach the nursery with sweet little babies ranging from 18mths to 3yrs old. I have been the primary chorister as well and enjoyed relearning all of the children's songs. I also have taught the 5 yr old class. Love to listen to all of their answers. At home, we pray as a family, morning and night. We have family home evening each and every Monday. We practice our children songs from church and we read from the scriptures every day. As a couple, my husband and I read scriptures together and pray every day. I have learned that going to Heavenly Father as a family, as husband and wife, and individually, you not only get closer to Him, but also your spouse and your family. It's not always the perfect scenario as my almost 4 yr old I feel never listens because he plays and talks and runs...but those moments when he answers the question just right or he sings the entire song..or even bits of it, you feel the spirit confirm that you're making the right choice and even though it may not seem that he is getting anything from what you're doing, his spirit is soaking it all up! Never stop!
