Hi I'm Caitlyn

I love sandwiches. I am an outdoor fanatic. I'm a mom. And..I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to my best friend, my greatest adventure partner, and the love of my life. Never in my life have I been happier. My husband and I have two boy offspring in which we are absolutely obsessed with. I have a degree in Health Education and Communications and hope to one day be a high school teacher. The number one thing that keeps me going is the outdoors. Whether it's climbing, rafting, biking or just embracing the jangle of the trees, nature is where I want to be. I also indulge my self in sports whenever I have a chance. I firmly believe that happiness has a direct connection with relationships and the health and wellness state of the human body. I feel best when I make others smile and feel great about themselves. I love every minute of life and am an incredibly blessed individual.

Why I am a Mormon

It's simple...The gospel of Jesus Christ brings HAPPINESS. The most universal desire of all mankind is to be happy. There are thousands of ways to find temporal happiness, but the only way to find true/everlasting happiness is through living the gospel. Being a Latter-day Saint makes me a better person. It inspires me to constantly search for ways to lift others, it makes me want to reach my greatest potential and it gives me a consistent feeling of peace. It provides for me hope when nothing else can. The gospel is my reason for living. Jesus Christ is the center of the gospel. I know that he is my Savior, because I have felt His overwhelming love around me. I testify of the power of His infinite atonement, I have witnessed it work miracles in my life and know that... because of it, we can overcome any heartache, grief or pain that we may experience in this mortal life. Jesus Christ lives. He knows me personally and is in every detail of my life.

How I live my faith

Every word I say, everything I do is because of the gospels impact in my life. The number one way that I earnestly try to live my faith is to seek to better people's lives each day. I always want to leave people better than how I found them. I work on being uplifting in my conversation and try to be a positive influence on others. I pray each day to be led to someone who is struggling or needs someone to notice them, and hope that I can help them feel of God's love. We are all in the life together, working towards a similar goal. We are much better off lifting each other up rather than beating them down. Simply serving others is what the Gospel is all about. Disclosure: I do my very best to do the above each day... but by no means do I succeed each day. Human.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Paying tithing is a small commandment that God has asked of us. If you think about it, it's only giving up 10% of what He has given us. We believe that all that we have, is God's. I also believe that God creates commandments so that He can bless us. If we follow this commandment, then we receive significant blessings. We may be giving up 10% of our worldy income, but we get so much more back in blessings. I have personally seen miracles happen that I can account to paying a full tithe. We are in eternal debt to our Father in Heaven, and giving 10% of our income, is the absolute LEAST we can do for Him. Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is one the greatest resources we have to make it back to our Heavenly Father. Without gift of the Holy Ghost in my life I would feel as though there were a blindfold on my eyes and no one was there to help me along. But with the gift of the Holy Ghost we have constant direction, guidance and protection from harm. If we are worthy of the gift, we will never be lead astray so long as we heed the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less
