Hi I'm Sister Kayli Householder

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I am also a wanna-be nutritionist!

About Me

Hi my name is Kayli! I live in a family of nine. I have two older brothers and four younger siblings. They are all my best friends and I have no idea what I would do without them. It's always a party! I love to sing! But only in groups, or alone in my car. No solos. ;) I was in a choir called EVMCO and I had the chance to go with them to Orange County, California as well as Texas to perform for ACDA. I also love to play the piano. I taught myself for a few years, then took lessons for about 4 years. I started to learn the organ and had played the violin for a while, but I haven't practiced as much as I should... I really enjoy camping with my family, and going to the lake or river. Since I live in Arizona, It's great to go on walks during the fall when it's not 100+ outside. I love to read and learn about Church and American history, and nutrition. I have taken online classes through BYU-I, BYU and on campus through EAC. I plan on getting a degree in functional nutrition! Last year I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and have been working on healing myself not just through medication, but through eating foods that are better for me, getting enough rest, and exercising. I wanted to make sure I was healed enough to serve a mission. I am currently a full time missionary serving in the Utah Salt Lake City West Mission! I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve God and His children for the next eighteen months of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, with amazing parents who encouraged us to make Christ and His gospel the center of our lives. When I was younger I was just doing it because that's what everyone else was doing. I guess I really started to know, when my youth leaders at church challenged us to read the Book of Mormon all the way through in one summer. I read it and did Moroni's challenge at the end. I prayed to know if it was true and I felt very strongly that it was. So I read it again. The more I read it, the more I understood it and came to love it. I now read the scriptures every day, and have felt God's love and His strength because of it. I have gone through many times where I've wondered if this was the only true church. I've had a lot of questions on different doctrines. But after praying and reading the scriptures, I would remember a scripture that explains how I can know if that doctrine is right. I know that this is God's church. I know that is holds through proper authority from God, the keys of the priesthood which make it possible for us to receive the ordinances and make the covenants necessary for us to live with our family and our God forever. I have seen how much this church has helped me grow closer to my Father in Heaven and I will always be grateful for it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith first by attending church every week so that I can partake of the sacrament. The sacrament gives me an opportunity to remember my Savior and to renew the covenants I have made with Him at baptism. When I was baptized, I promised to keep the commandments, to take Christ's name upon myself, and to help bear the burdens of those around me. I am currently preparing to serve as a missionary for God's church. I am preparing by studying the scriptures, learning to rely completely on my Savior, Jesus Christ. I do my best to help those around me know of my love for them and most importantly the Savior's love for them. Although I make a lot of mistakes, I'm grateful for Christ's love and mercy. I know that as I make mistakes, I can repent and come closer to my Savior a little bit each and every day.
