Hi I'm Jacob Cook

I love food, music, traveling, and my family. I have been called to serve a mission in Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the Chicago area. My family is pretty loud and wild, but they're the most important people to me and that's why I love them! I love food and trying new foods, cooking, learning about different cultures and languages, and traveling. I've traveled to Mexico, Italy, Spain, around the U.S. and I hope to travel more! English is my native language, but I studied and learned Spanish, a little bit of French, and soon will be speaking Portuguese on my mission to Brazil. Music and singing has always been an important part of my life and who I am. I love nature and the outdoors. I love to dance and have a good time, but I also like to relax, read, and watch movies. I have no idea what I am going to do with my life after my mission or what I will study in college, but I am adventurous and hope to figure it out what to do that makes me happy!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church. Growing up, I have always been one of the few Mormons at my school and even in my extended family, so my faith has always been tested and questioned. My parents raised me in the church, taught me, and consistently took me to church my whole life, but they always wanted me to make my own decisions. When I have been faced with challenges and when my faith has been tested I have learned that living the gospel and being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints brings me true happiness and helps me understand the purpose my life. Now as an adult, after learning from my family, other people's lives, and my own experiences I have had my own personal confirmation that this is Christ's true restored church.

How I live my faith

Right now I am serving a full time mission inviting others to come unto Christ. In my everyday life I try to serve others and be a loving friend. As I try to live my faith I often am faced with people who are unfamiliar with it, so I do my best to answer questions they may have about the LDS church.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Jacob Cook
To know our Father in Heaven we should seek after Him and strive to come closer to Him. We can do this by studying His word, applying His words to our lives, keeping His commandments, praying to Him, and trying to be more like Him. Also, by serving others and being charitable towards others, or having the pure love of Christ, we can feel His love for His children and for us individually. By doing all this and coming closer to Him we can be blessed by our Father in Heaven and His presence in our lives will be stronger and you will come to know of Him through confirmation of the Spirit.
