Hi I'm Amanda Jane Bean

I am a wife/mother living in Austin Texas. My family is my world. The outdoors my playground. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of one darling little boy and have an amazing husband who is forever making me laugh! I come from a loud family full of personality and love. They were my rock growing up and continue to be a source of stability and strength to me. I am passionate about good food and literature. Any excuse to be in the kitchen whipping up something yummy and I will take it! My husband and I love the outdoors and are always looking for a new water hole or hiking trail to go explore. I love hosting parties and making sure everyone has a good time. Game nights are a weekly thing in out home.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints brings more peace and joy in my life than anything else. I'm a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true and testifies of my Savior Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because I love God. I was baptized when I was 8 years old but it wasn't until I was a Sophomore in High School that my faith was truly tested for the first time. When I had to explain what I believed to a group of students who were scornful of my faith, I realized that I had a real desire to know what I was teaching was true. So I prayed to my Heavenly Father, I went to church, I studied the Book of Mormon and the Bible and I know that the Lord heard me, saw my effort and blessed me with a knowledge and a feeling that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was a true church. I decided then and there that I would keep His commandments and that I wouldn't be afraid to share His gospel with others. I am not perfect. Far from it. There are many things I struggle with on a daily basis, but being a Mormon taught me who I am, a daughter of God, and I am beyond grateful for that. I wish for all of God's children to know the divine potential they have and the great love their Father in Heaven has for them!

How I live my faith

My faith influences not only my choices in life, but also my attitude toward life. How I deal with joy and suffering is a part of that. Just because I have faith and believe in God does not mean that my life is free of worry or care. It simply means that the worries and cares do not knock me down as long or as hard. I live my faith by trying to lift those around me. To help those I see in need and be a friend to everyone. No matter their own beliefs or life styles. I also live my faith by going to church, paying a 10% tithe, and fulfilling my church calling to the best of my ability. I try to live what I know and what I have learned to be true.
