Hi I'm Jenny

I'm a songwriter that has sold over 1 million CDs. But what matters most to me is that I'm a mother and a follower of Christ.

About Me

I started writing Christian music when I was 6 years old. After winning awards, releasing 10 best-selling CDs, and putting on more than 1,000 performances in 21 countries, I left my record label and all retail stores to focus more on my young and growing family. I still release music exclusively on my website, and I still do some performing, but my greatest focus in life is motherhood--and I love it! I have found incredible joy and fulfillment in being a wife and mother of 5 children. There is nothing more amazing than a baby in the house! I believe the greatest joys in life are found through my relationship with Christ, through family, through service, and through developing a Christ-like character. I love writing and sharing my music, but I want to make sure my life is focused on all the things that matter most. I also love to garden, do family history, travel, be in nature, and read history, biographies, and historical fiction.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the restored Church of Jesus Christ because the Holy Ghost has witnessed to me that it is true. When Christ was on this earth, he organized His Church on the foundation of apostles and prophets. After Christ's death, the Church eventually fell into decay and split into many different sects, all changing the ordinances and interpreting the doctrine in different ways. "Even though many good people believed in Christ and tried to understand and teach His gospel, they had inherited a state of apostasy as each generation was influenced by what the previous one passed on, including changes in the doctrines and in ordinances such as baptism. As God had done with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and other prophets, He called Joseph Smith to be a prophet through whom the fullness of the gospel was restored to the earth . . . Knowing that doubt, disbelief, and misinformation would remain after centuries of darkness, our loving Heavenly Father brought forth an ancient volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible, which contains the fullness of the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ." Each time I read the Book of Mormon, I feel that its teachings are true. It is full or power and truth and goes hand in hand with the Bible. It clarifies the beautiful and simple doctrines of Christ's gospel. The power of the Holy Ghost has witnessed to me that the fullness of the gospel and the Lord's priesthood authority are found in the Church of Jesus Christ in these last days. We have true and living apostles and prophets on the earth today; we have temples; we have baptism by immersion under property authority; we have the sealing power that binds families together forever; we are following the mandate to preach the gospel to the whole earth. Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of this great work. It is of Him and His gospel that I testify.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has given me many opportunities to grow and serve. My husband and I currently teach the 9 and 10 year old children in our local congregation, and we love it! My husband served a 2-year mission in Spain before we married, and we look forward to serving missions together one day. Our family holds family home evening every Monday night where we study the gospel, have a treat, and play games or do an activity. We also start our mornings studying the scriptures and praying as a family as well as personally. This has brought great blessings to us and our children.
