Hi I'm Brittney Lucero

I live in Colorado Springs, Co. I attend Brigham Young University - Idaho. I'm a mormon.

About Me

In high school I was a varsity cheerleader. I was a co-captain my Junior year and a head captain my Senior year.I loved being active in school. I currently attend Brigham Young University - Idaho. I am majoring in Elementary Education and plan to minor in Bilingual Education after I return from my mission (El Salvador, Santa Ana/Belize mission). I love to work with children! I also enjoy hanging out with family and friends, shopping, exercising, hiking the beautiful trails in Colorado, and learning new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up being a member of the church. My mother grew up a member but my father did not. He was a convert at the age of 21. As I grew older I began to recognize that the gospel was much more important to my mom than it ever was to my dad. At a young age I had to decide which way of life seemed better. My sophomore year of high school my dad moved out. He was an alcoholic and made poor choices while under the influence. My family went through a lot of hardships with this abrupt change in our family life. It was then when I truly gained a testimony of the church and gained a strong relationship with my Heavenly Father. This gospel brings more comfort and strength than anything the world could ever offer you. I know with everything inside of me that this is the true church. I know that Joseph Smith did see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that the Atonement is real, and that through it we can return to live with our Father in Heaven one day. I know that families are eternal. I know that without this gospel, I would not be the person I am today. This gospel is truth! I know that Thomas S. Monson is our living prophet today and is lead by God, just like the prophets of old. I know that our Father in Heaven loves each of his children. I know that if we live a faithful life and strive to obey the commandments continually, we will return to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday. When I was a youth I served in many class presidencies and was also a member of the Stake Youth Committee. Once I graduated High school, I became a primary teacher in my home ward. I taught the five year olds and loved every second of it! When I went away to college I was a member of the activities committee my first semester and was the activity director my second semester. I will be serving a mission in El Salvador and Belize in the near future and cannot wait to share the gospel along with my own testimony to others!
