Hi I'm Elder Hoskins

Born in Salt Lake City, grew up in St. George. Currently serving in the Japan Fukuoka Mission.

About Me

I am currently serving a full time mission and I am really enjoying it so much. I can tell you that it is very hard, but at the same time it brings me so much happiness and joy. I am serving in Fukouka, Japan and it is so awesome to be a part of the work. I just graduated from Snow Canyon High School earlier this year and I am just barely 18 years old. I enjoy snowboarding, rugby, basketball with all of the Elders, Video games and music and Television, which i miss so much but that can wait for now until i have completed my full time mission. I wasnt really active in the church and didnt like seminary very much, but when they changed the mission age and i put in my papers and received my call i was able to grow a testimony of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because i love the gospel and all of the blessings that it brings into my life as well as the lives of people around me, such as families and friends. I love the gospel a lot because we have been promised Eternal life with our families if we are true to the faith. That is my main driving factor to stay worthy in this life, and why I decided to serve a mission. I want my testimony to be so strong in the last of times that i can be able to return to live with my family in heaven after this life.

How I live my faith

I really enjoy meeting new people, getting to know new people and sharing stories and experiences with them and having a good time. This is great for me to have the opportunity to serve a mission so i can share the gospel with others and invite them to come unto Christ so they can have the blessings and joy that I love so much.

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

Elder Hoskins
The Church also helps people around the world by sending out many full-time missionaries to server the people that live in the area they are serving. Right now there are about 80,000 missionaries around the world, me being one of them. Our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ, a good way of doing that is doing service for others all the time. In my mission a great way to server others is by teaching english classes for free to the people in Japan. Another example is when Japan had the really bad earthquake and tsunami the Church was able to send the missionaries and volunteers as well as money and supplies to all of the people affected by the Disaster. This is bringing others unto Christ by helping them feel our love and be appreciative of our service as well as helping us come Closer to Christ by free-willingly helping others and making them feel good.
