Hi I'm Ashlie Nelson

I grew up in Elk Grove California and recently moved with my husband and 3 boys to Meridian Idaho.

About Me

I am a mother of 5 boys. Two steps sons and three of my own. They range in age from 22-5 so I have my hands full. The 2 oldest live in California where they are discovering life on their own and the youngest 3 are still at home. I am learning everyday what it takes to be a good parent. I fail often but learn from my mistakes. I have been married to my best friend for 10 years and have never been happier.

Why I am a Mormon

It took me a long time to figure out "why I am a Mormon". Growing up it was because my parents were. It was that simple. But as I got older and started to figure out life I wanted to know for myself what would make me happy. I did and tried lots of things. Many I am not proud. I can look back and see that I was having "fun" but I was not "happy". It wasn't until I had some serious events happen in my life that forced me to decide on a path I would take in my life. I decided that I needed Jesus Christ in my life. I needed his love, guidance and comfort. When I made that decision, I was able to make changes in my life and try to be more like Christ. I am still trying everyday. Some days I do pretty good and some days I fail terribly. I have come to know without a doubt that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He is my foundation and it through and because of Him that I have found happiness. I know his gospel was restored to this earth by Joseph Smith and that the Power of God (Priesthood) is here on the earth today. I find strength, comfort and peace every day because of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Being a mother of all boys, it figures that I would be involved with Cub/ Boy Scouts. Currently, I serve as the Wolf Leader (boys ages 9 years old) and love it. Those boys are full of life and keep me on my toes. My oldest son recently earned his Eagle Scout award. He is also active in Scouts, basketball, school, youth activities etc.
