Hi I'm Mary Warner

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I love my family and the Lord. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a student in college and loving every minute of it. I play on my school's ultimate frisbee women's team and I just got involved in student leadership on campus. I dabble in volleyball, skiing, and pingpong. My passion is playing the piano. I enjoy any speedy card game or attending sporting events or concerts. I love meeting new people and trying new things. This coming summer, I plan to go on a two year mission to teach the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

My knowledge of the truthfulness of this gospel did not come because of one big aha moment or a spectacular vision, though that would have been nice. However, my testimony of this gospel came as I began doing small and simple things. When I realized I could no longer rely on my parent's testimony, I began following the teachings of this church to find out for myself if it was true or not. I began reading the Bible and Book of Mormon to know if they were true. With time and sincere desire to know the truth, gradually the Spirit revealed to me that the Bible and Book of Mormon are truly the words of God. I love the scriptures because they are filled with teachings of Christ and Heavenly Father. I know that Jesus is the Savior of the world and loves us all. I have a testimony of Joseph Smith. He was a prophet called of God to restore the gospel to the earth in this dispensation. I love this gospel. It gives me comfort, strength, and direction. I know it is what makes me happy and helps me strive to be a better person every day.

How I live my faith

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 116th ward in Provo. It contains freshmen youth that live on campus at the university I attend. I currently serve as a leader in our women's organization. I am assigned to teach lessons occasionally and plan service projects. Like all of the women in the 116th ward, I also serve as a visiting teacher. We are each assigned to two girls from our group that we visit each month.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Mary Warner
The Word of Wisdom is a way we keep our bodies healthy and strong. We are instructed to refrain from alcohol, tobacco, coffee and tea, and any illegal drugs. If we follow the word of wisdom God promises that we will receive blessings, spiritually and physically. Show more Show less
