Hi I'm Jennifer Anderson

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I went to cosmetology school and now work in a salon. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have a big family with 3 brothers, 2 sisters and 15 nieces and nephews. While growing I was extremely close to my younger sister. We did everything together. My parents moved from Reno and raised our family in Las Vegas. I love being outdoors; I love hiking, repelling, swimming, and just being outside. I am not a fan of the cold, which I don't have to worry about too much living in the desert. I love children and being around them! I grew up babysitting for people all the time and working with children often at church. I love reading and finding new stories to read, especially those based on true stories. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories and adventures in their lives!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up the church, but my true conversion happened just a few years ago. After I graduated from high school I didn't want to go to church or do the things I was supposed to be doing. I fell away from the gospel. My mom grew concerned for me and asked one of the hardest, but most simple questions I have ever been asked. She asked me if I still believed in the gospel. I told her I didn't think I did anymore. She then told me that she knew I had a testimony of the gospel and that I simply felt it was easier to not live the gospel at this time in my life. That moment seeing my mom cry and tell me these things hit me hard and made me readjust the way I was living my life. I started to go back to church and truly study the scriptures and the words of the prophets. I have never felt so strongly about the church and felt so much joy as I do now. I am grateful for my experience and that chose to continue to grow in the church. I am a Mormon simply because I know my Heavenly Father loves. I have struggled, prayed, and ask God for answers. I have received answers and I know this is His true church on the earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simply going to church every Sunday. I used to have to opportunity to teach the children at church age 5 and 6. Those children were so smart and probably taught me more about the gospel and the spirit than I could ever teach them. I loved hearing their answers about gospel topics and hearing their testimonies. I currently don't have a calling at church so I am living my faith now by being an example to those around and studying the gospel to help me learn, grow, and become closer to my Heavenly Father.
