Hi I'm Diane

I am a Mormon from Idaho. An elementary teacher for 26 years. I have 4 children, 14 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandsons.

About Me

After our retirement, my husband and I served a 2 1/2 mission for the LDS Employment Resource Center. We have just begun serving a mission for the Idaho Pocatello Mission Office. I will be recording baptisms and referrals and my husband will be working with the transportation area. We have also been officiators in the Idaho Falls Temple for six years and we're still enjoying our time spent there. We love to be with our family and enjoy our grandchildren. We try to spend our summer in Island Park, a small town about thirty miles from West Yellowstone. We enjoy taking our family and friends into Yellowstone Park to see all the wild life and natural beauty there. During my spare time I love to make quilts to donate wherever they might be needed. I also make sure we have warm quilts for our cabin and for my family. Every grandchild gets one for graduation and one when they get married. The babies always get several fleece and flannel quilts to snuggle up in. My husband and I met at Utah State University while we were getting our education. He wasn't a member of the church but we knew to be a successful family religion was very important. He listened to the missionaries and joined the church. A year later we were married in the Logan Temple. We have enjoyed 44 years of marriage. We are still best friends and love to do things together.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the church is true and it gives me standards and purpose to use as I pattern my life after the Savior. As a member of the church, I have the opportunity to receive beautiful blessings from my Heavenly Father and I'm able to associate with great people who are wonderful examples of the pure love of Christ. I know God lives. I know He hears and answers our prayers. I know that He gives me trails to endure so that I will become a better person and more understanding of others needs. I have felt His love as He has been with me through pain and sadness and given me the courage to go on. I am so grateful to my ancestors and family for all they endured so that I could enjoy the blessings of the gospel. I feel very blessed and know that I am an important person to my Father in Heaven. I know that anyone who is wanting to feel the blessing and eternal love of our Father needs to investigate all that I have as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. I am truly blessed and would love for you to enjoy these blessings, too.

How I live my faith

I try to be an example of what I believe sharing my love and happiness whenever I can. I serve and share my talents whenever they might be needed. As you have read, I am serving my second mission, the temple is a very important part of who I am. We go there every week to serve others and enjoy the beautiful spirit that is present. I have had the privilege of teaching the 12-13 year old Sunday School class and got to be part of the new program "Come Follow Me". It has been an awesome experience seeing each boy and girl in our class teach the lesson once a month. We have some great future missionaries in our ward!! Right now I am serving in our Relief Society (the women's organization) as secretary.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Diane
I was taught at my father's knee to never fear death. His stepmother had a serious illness and died. She begged Heavenly Father to allow her to return and raise her family of small children. (Eight of them had already lost one Mom.) She promised to never complain and to serve Him and teach her family of the Savior's love. She taught my father about the love of our Heavenly Father and the beauty and peace that is found after death. In turn, my father taught this to me. I know there is life after death and we will be with family again. I know that my parents and other family members who I dearly love are near and that someday I will be able to see them again and feel their arms around me. This knowledge is such a comfort to me and helps me during my grief. It's just another way that I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and cares about me. Show more Show less
