Hi I'm Assyria Tanuvasa

I'm a Samoan. I'm a young woman trying to live confidently and righteously in a wicked world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have played volleyball for most of my life. I have also learned some dances from my Polynesian culture, such the the Poi Ball dance, the Taualuga & Siva, Hula, and Tahitian dances. I come from a military family so I moved around a lot and experienced many different cultures. I also love to read, daydream, write, and paint. I have learned how important it is to be a good follower to the scriptures, one's parents, and the teachings of the prophets.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, not just because it's the only way to become the best version of myself, but also because I know that it's teachings and doctrine are founded and based on pure truth. I have found out for myself that what this Church abides by is God's laws. His church is run His way, and although admittedly I don't know everything, I know enough for myself that I don't have to question all the critics and others who would gladly tear down my faith. I am the type who strives constantly to improve myself, but I also understand how important it is in this life to not be too hard on oneself. The gospel of Jesus Christ in this Church is the best way for me to live a healthy, balanced life that build me up, gives me second chances, and allows me to see and strive towards my true purpose in life. I have been a member of this church since I was 8, being in the Church that long, I have also seen a lot of the possible reasons why people are so confused or against our behavior, or why they choose to leave. But I will stay and continue to build the Kingdom of God because I know His gospel is true, and because everyone makes mistakes, of course people in this church will as well, and will continue to make mistakes. I know that just because others make mistakes, that doesn't mean the entire church, or His doctrine is faulty. I know that my older brother, Jesus Christ loves everyone that has come on this earth and all those that will come, and that he is ready to envelope everyone with His love, and teach those the truth that are looking for it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by organizing events and activities for the young single adults in the Church. I love being able to provide opportunities for people to meet and grow bonds with others, and strengthen each others testimonies.I enjoy being in community service activities; if I could pick one thing to do for the rest of my life to make me happy, service would be it.
