Hi I'm Aaron Jencks

I grew up in Colorado. I have attended BYU- Idaho, I love my friends and family, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love playing sports, I played a little bit of basketball and tennis while I was in high school. Any opportunity I get I try to organize football games with my friends. I'm not a superstar, but I enjoy the competition. I'm the type of person who loves singing, but people cringe when they hear it. Yeah I'm that bad. But I sing anyways, with my flat, off tune voice, and hey, maybe one day I can be a superstar! I love cooking! Especially when I can cook with a friend or family member. Its a great time to have pleasant conversation, and at the end of the conversation you have this wonderful meal you've cooked. Fabulous! I attended college for a year after graduating high school. It was a blast being on my own, but now I'm preparing to serve a full time mission in Mesa, Arizona.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church for a simple reason. I know it's true. I know that this church teaches me true doctrine and it helps me become a better man. I was born a Mormon, but that doesn't always mean I knew it was true. When I was younger I was unsure if this church was true or not so I read The Book of Mormon, and really prayed hard to know if it were true. There was no big AH HA moments, but as I continued to ask my heavenly father in faith, a true knowledge and confirmation came upon me. The more I study, and the more I stay faithful, the stronger my testimony becomes. I know this church is true, I know that Christ died for us so that we may return with him again, and I am so grateful for this. I love my Heavenly Father and my brother Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life according to my faith everyday. I have always believed I should be a pickle. In order to get a pickle you have to let a cucumber soak in vinegar for a long time, but just once a week for a few hours. Like the cucumber I try to soak myself in my religion daily so that I may become a pickle of the Mormon Church. I believe serving is very important, so I try to serve the people in my church whenever I can. In fact a few weeks ago I got the opportunity to help a man in my church empty honey from bee hives. It was a truly interesting and scary experience. I will be leaving soon to serve as a full time missionary for my church. I will be blessed with the opportunity to spend my entire day in the serve of my church, and of others.
