Hi I'm Wendy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love cycling, playing tennis, cheering for my college football teams and traveling to experience new places, cultures and people which make this a beautiful world. Even though I am single I am surrounded by my family and friends who fill my life with love and happiness!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Mormon church but I still had to experience my own conversion. Because I attended church on Sunday all throughout my life I had the advantage of learning about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ through the words of God called scriptures. This includes the Bible, Book of Mormon and words of living prophets who have been chosen in our day to testify of Christ and lead His church. I do not follow blindly but instead I share that I have obtained a testimony by living the principles that I've been taught. I know our Heavenly Father lives and His son, Jesus Christ, is our Savior and Redeemer. I know Joseph Smith was chosen as a prophet to restore the Church of Jesus Christ in April 1830 while living in the state of New York, USA. Joseph Smith translated into English the Book of Mormon which is the records of God's interactions with the people that lived on the American continent from about 600BC to 421AD. Included in the Book of Mormon is the account when Jesus Christ appeared after His crucifixion and resurrection and He called apostles and prophets and organized His church as He did during His mortal ministry. He gave them His power and authority (the priesthood) to act in His name and lead His church. Joseph Smith was the first prophet of these latter-days and there have been 15 succeeding prophets until today as Thomas S. Monson is our living prophet. I know these things are true by the power of the Holy Ghost which has testified to both my heart and mind. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God because I have read it and asked God if it was true. The Book of Mormon is tangible proof that Joseph Smith was God's prophet. All prophets testify of Jesus Christ and invite all nations and people to come unto Christ and be prepared to receive Him when He returns to the earth in power and great glory.

How I live my faith

I'm trying to live a good life and serve others. As a baptized member of the Mormon church I have made covenants to be a disciple, or follower, of Jesus Christ and strive to become more like Him. I'm a ward missionary which means I have the opportunity to meet and interact with people who live near me who are investigating the Mormon church. It is a privledge to help others come to know more about Jesus Christ and His gospel. Back when I was attending college I put my degree on hold and chose to serve an 18-month mission. I went to the Philippines and had the most amazing and humbling experience of my life. Today I try to live my faith by helping others come to know that God has a plan of happiness that will bring purpose and direction to our life. I truly believe the words of our living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, when he tells us not to have fear but be of good cheer. The future is as bright as our faith!
