Hi I'm Tom

I am a runner, a crossfitter, a husband, and a Father. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in a large family with 7 kids and we moved around quite a bit. This was a blessing in my life because it gave me the opportunity to met so many new people and also allowed me to become close with my family. Many times as we began living in a new place they were my only friends. The Church provided a nice social network also as I went through my teens. My faith in Jesus Christ and in the Church made me unique in school. I played football for 4 years, graduated, and then I served a 2 year mission to Chile. Returning, I began my studies to become a dentist. Along the way I met my wife of 13 years and we have had 3 beautiful children. We enjoy running, crossfitting, biking, and basically anything else that allows us to get out and exercise.

Why I am a Mormon

Like I mentioned before I have always been part of a Mormon family. As a youth the Church always provided me with a strong social network that allowed me to get through a lot of the moves that we had growing up. Each church unit had a new group of friends that shared many of my same beliefs and many common interests. Most importantly, many of these friends shared the same morals. Being a father of 3 children now I can see the of teaching them strong principles that will allow them to make correct choices. I want them to have friends that allow them to make good choices also. There are many things changing in the world these days and I want to be able to raise a family of strong moral courage. The teachings in the Church allow me to accomplish this purpose. I know that Jesus Christ is at the head of this Church and I have felt his presence in the choices that I make with my family each day.

How I live my faith

In my lifetime as a member of the Church I have had many opportunities to provide service to others. As mentioned I served a 2 year mission to the people in Chile. This was a great experience that allowed me to teach the principles that I had always learned as a youth. Returning from Chile I attended school had opportunities to teach various classes to other church members. I have been able to work with the youth of the church in various capacities. also. Currently I serve with the missionaries that are assigned to our area. This gives me great opportunities to meet with those just learning about the gospel.
