Hi I'm Getty

my name is Gertrude, i am a mormon. i am from Nigeria. i am fun to chat with. i love meeting new people.

About Me

i love reading interesting novels. my favorite color is RED. am in my early twenties. love making friends. am serving a mission in Benin Cotonou Mission. hope others will decide to serve a mission too. it is a wonderful thing to serve in the vine yard of my heavenly father. although i was born catholic i started attending the church from the age of 5. when i was a bit younger, i love attending the primary and the things i learnt in my youth, seminary and young women class have always been my guide. i know that The church is the restored gospel of christ on earth. i know am on the right path. i am grateful to my parents for accepting the restored gospel. i know that he who forgets the language of gratitude will never be in speaking terms with happiness. i have equally come to know that the happiest person doesn't have the best of everything but maybe they are good in making out the best from what life brings along his way. the gospel has blessed my life in more ways than one. the book of mormon is true.

Why I am a Mormon

i joined the church because my parents did but over the years i have come to know for myself that even if they didnt accept the gospel then, that i would have accepted it in my days. i have come to know for myself that the church is true, that the gospel of our lord and savior Jesus Christ have been restored in this our last dispensation. the Doctrines of the church have been guiding me in the paths of truth and righteousness. this truth which i have come to know for myself is what i have decided to share with others. that was why i have decided to serve a mission, and the lord has called me to labour in the Benin Cotonou Mission. I know that God lives and that he is mindful of his children, i equally know with all my heart and without any iota of doubt that the book of mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and it is a witness of the Prophetic calling of the Prophet Joseph Smith. i know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ i can repent when i make a mistake and better prepare myself to return to my father in Heaven. my testimony of this Gospel and Jesus Christ is the highest truth i can profess. i know that when we pray with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, having a real intent that god with answer our prayers and will reveal the truth of all things through the Holy ghost.

How I live my faith

i always look forward to the times when we will have our MORMON HELPING HAND. i participate actively to helping my society. in my ward i have served at different capacities. i was a youth leader, a young women class president, a seminary teacher, a ward missionary, a single adult teacher. i always try to obey even when it doesnt go down well with me but what i do not do is to compromise my standard to suite anybody. i love the gospel so much and currently am serving in Benin Cotonou Mission.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Mormons are not a set of selfish people rather they are a set of selfless people. when they come to know about the restored gospel of the lord and savior Jesus Christ, they also desire that others should know of this truth also. They are not ashamed of holding the Book of Mormon because they know it has blessed their life in more ways than one. If you come to know of this truth for yourself by the power of the holy ghost, you will also desire that the whole nations come to know of this truth too. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Getty
Our faith should be centred on the Savior Jesus Christ. Our garment will be made white if we have FAITH in the lamb of God (1 Nephi 12 vs 10; 11-12). Doubt your doubt before you doubt your faith(Dieter F. Utchdorf) Show more Show less

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Getty
Mormonism is a group of people who believe in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and uses the Book of Mormon as the convincing proove that the gospel has been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. WHAT DO MORMONS BELIEVE!!! 1.) We believe in God the Eternal Father, and his son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. 2.) We believe that men will be punished for their own sins and not for Adam's transgression. 3.) We believe that through the atonement of Christ all mankind maybe saved by obedience to the law and the ordinances of the gospel. 4.) We believe that the first principle and ordinances of the gospel are: first, Faith in the lord Jesus Christ; second Repentance; third Baptism by immerssion for the remission of sins; Fourth, laying on of the hands for the gift of the holy ghost. 5.) We believe that a man must be called of God by prophecy and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority to preach the gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof. 6.) We believe in the same organization that existed in the primitice church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists and so forth. 7.) We believe in the gift of tongues , prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues and so forth. 8.) We believe the bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and many more. Visit a mormon church and find out more.
