Hi I'm Christina

I'm a proud Canadian, I love performing and creating, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old, I come from a family of 8 kids, and I'm number 5! I love being involved with musical theatre- I was lucky enough to finally realize a life long dream and perform as Ariel in Disney's the little mermaid this past spring! I will be serving a mission in Long Beach California for the next year and a half, and I can't tell you how excited I am to share the great news of this restored church of Christ! I was born in St. Albert, Alberta, grew up primarily in Orleans, Ontario, lived for a while on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, and currently live in Cardston, Alberta! I love all things broadway and my most favourite colour is pink! My best friend in the whole world, Kennedy Crawford, is serving her mission right now in Toronto, she is one of the biggest examples of kindness and love in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I blessed to have been born into a mormon family. I always went to church, but simply attending is not what makes someone a deciple of Christ. When I was 15, I was in a rut. I wanted a testimony so badly, I wanted to be one of those deciples, but I couldn't find it on my own. One sacrement meeting, I prayed with all my might know what Heavenly Father needed me to do. That meeting, two talks were given; one on tithing and the other on reading the book of mormon. I had always payed a full tithe (as far as I can remember) but I had never read the book of mormon. The woman who gave the talk, spoke of how it changed her life, how she came to know her saviour through its sacred pages. I know that day she was inspired of God to give me the answers I needed to begin my path to decipleship, to my personal change of heart. In the months that followed reading the book of mormon, I received my testimony, one that still stands strong and unbreakable to this day. I am a mormon because I know that Jesus lived. He walked on this earth and died for my sins and for the sins of everyone who has ever lived, who lives now, and who will ever live. He suffered that we may have the atonement and the opportunity to repent and be forgiven, every time. I am a mormon because Joseph Smith restored that very same church that existed in the time of Jesus, to the earth through the power and authority of God. I am a mormon because Joseph Smith then translated a sacred account of a people living on the American continent. A people who were visited by Christ after his resurrection, for he had "sheep that [were] not of [that] fold." He published that text, the book of mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ, for all to read. I am a mormon because we have a prophet on this earth today. One who is led God himself, one who guides, directs, and most of all, loves the people of this earth, in these latter days. Most of all, I'm a mormon because the holy spirit testifies to my soul these eternal truths.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always trying to be kind with all those around me. I try to live the gospel in my life every day. While some people try to blend in, I want to stand out. I want people to know just by looking at me that I am a latter day saint. I try to be modest and to stay true to my standards so that I can let my light so shine before men that they may see my good works and glorify my God who is in heaven. I want to reach out to everyone around my and share this eternal light I have found in my life! The plan of salvation, which has been revealed to us, is truly the plan of happiness! I have lived without the influence of the gospel in my life and with it; I can say with utter assurance that the pure joy I feel in my life comes from the heavenly truths I have learned being a part of this church! I live my faith by sharing that with others.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

We can increase our faith in Jesus Christ by obeying his teachings and comandments. Sometimes you may not feel like it, you may feel like it's not worth it, or there's no use. Fight these thoughts. Fake it 'til you make it. Read even when you don't want to. Pray even when you'd rather not, and soon enough you will have the desire to do it all on your own. It's kinda like when youre sad, you smile because it makes you happy, it really does! Read the scriptures and pray and faith and testimony will come. Show more Show less
