Hi I'm Suzanne

Utah is my home from birth. I recently retired as a Spanish teacher. I have two children and three grandchildren.

About Me

Children are my joy. I have two of my own, three grandchildren, and have taught over 2000 more as a Spanish teacher in middle school. Reading, sewing, gathering with family, friends, and former students, gardening (out of necessity more than enjoyment) and serving in the Church fill my time. I also do indexing and play at the piano. Recently retired, I now plan to serve a mission and have just received my call. What joy!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the church, so from the beginning I identified myself as a Mormon. As I grew and matured, I learned for myself of the beauty, truth, and vital importance of the principles and ordinances of the gospel, as I went through the normal difficulties of life and my own private trials with family, health, and profession. For example, I taught for two years immediately after graduating from college, then quit to be able to raise my children. When I went back to full-time teaching nineteen years later, the whole world had changed, and so had the way my subject was taught. I spent many tearful times on my knees asking for help finding ways and means to learn how to do my job as I needed and wanted to. I was shown opportunities for taking classes, met people who were willing and able to help, and inspired with ideas many times as I was working with my students in the very moment I needed help. I was blessed with a love for my students that made me more than willing to put in the long hours and hard work that was required for me to bring myself "up to date." The Lord has led, comforted, and strengthened me whenever I asked in faith and did my part to receive answers. Many answers took lots of time to receive, and many were "no," but all have been for my greatest growth. How I love the Church and the Lord!

How I live my faith

I study and pray daily. I love and serve His children in and out of the Church. I enjoy and express gratitude for the beauties of the earth, the goodness of the people around me, and all my other blessings. I vote in elections, try to leave places I've been a little better than I found them (as my dad taught), and obey, honor, and sustain the laws of the land.
