Hi I'm Daniel

I live in the UK, I'm a teacher, photographer, and surfer. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I started out my career as a research scientist but changed to become a secondary school science teacher because I wanted to work with and help people. I've since become disillusioned with the education system and I'm training to be an osteopath. I love martial arts and I currently practise BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu). I also love to surf, so when I'm not in the dojo I'll be in the ocean! My passion for surfing led me into surf photography and I love shooting anything else exciting. I love most kinds of music, but especially blues, and I play acoustic guitar.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon (member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) because I received a spiritual witness that Jesus Christ is the literal son of the living God, that God the Father lives, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I investigated the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for over a year before deciding to be baptised. During this time, I studied the Book of Mormon and the Bible, I experimented with living the principles and commandments revealed in the scriptures, I prayed, I talked to many members of the church, and I had several sacred experiences. I learned for myself that the teachings of Jesus Christ and His church have been restored in our day through His chosen prophets. The Spirit (Holy Ghost) manifested itself to me so strongly that my heart softened enough to exercise the faith to be baptised. Since then my testimony of the restored church and of the Book of Mormon and of Joseph Smith the prophet has continued to grow.

How I live my faith

Since I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have been asked to serve as a teacher within the church many times. I try to visit families and single people in my area regularly as part of our church programme to care for one another. I have participated in community service projects such as gardening work in local parks. On a day to day basis, I strive to live according to God's commandments.
