Hi I'm Matthew

I grew up in Maryland. I live in Delaware. I'm a husband, a father, a skier, a lawyer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up and live on the east coast of the United States, but went to college "out west." I served as a representative of the Mormon church for two years in Venezuela. I am now married and have five kids. I'm a trained accountant and lawyer (sounds boring, I know). I compensate by skiing, biking, swimming, playing lacrosse, basketball, and tennis. I do most of these activities with my wife and kids. I also play golf, but my wife would say golfing does not compensate for my less than exciting profession. I agree. I currently work for a law firm and actually enjoy what I do for a living.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are true. I have read the Book of Mormon many times. I have prayed about the Book of Mormon and about other gospel principles taught in the Mormon church. I have felt peace and quiet inspiration as I read and pray. Through these and other experiences, I have learned truths about myself, about God and Jesus Christ, and about the purpose of my life on this earth. As I have lived the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have felt my relationship with God and with Jesus Christ become stronger and more deeply personal.

How I live my faith

I am currently a counselor to the leader of our congregation. In that capacity, I help him watch out for the members of our congregation. I also help organize church meetings and activities. I visit families and share spiritual messages. I help people get to church on Sunday.
