Hi I'm Jacinta

Born and raised Aussie. I'm a Zelda fan and I'm a missionary in California.

About Me

Grew up a tomboy due to having 6 brothers. Cool fact: we all start with the letter 'J'. People will comment things like, "How did you do it??" or, "You poor thing!" Well. Not really. I got pretty spoiled! Not going to lie. You know what? My brothers are my best friends and part of the reason why I had a really happy childhood. My parents always taught me to keep the Sabbath Day Holy, read scriptures and pray every day. I am thoroughly convinced that this is the reason for why life was so fulfilling. Part Aussie and part Kiwi. My Mum is a rock! Growing up as a teenager I was determined to bend the rules and test her. She would always tell me the story about my oldest brother, and his one piece of advice to her when he finally got married. He said, "Mum, the one thing I wish you had done more often was tell me no." She took that advice to heart. I would kick and fight on Sunday's, not wanting to go to church. I would swear to her that I would leave the church when I was 18 years old. I told her I wouldn't serve a mission. 4 years later here I am serving a faithful mission in California. And it's all because she never gave in. She was not afraid to be my parent. I respect and appreciate her so dearly now because she held on to me until I was finally able to get a testimony of my own. I play the guitar, I love to sing, I'm a loyal video gamer and Joker fan, I have my parents and God to thank for that. My testimony: There are second chances.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Member of this church, God's restored church, because the Book of Mormon is a true record. Simple as that. Joseph Smith is not a liar. I prayed to know if it was true and I got an answer from the feelings I received as I've read it. The feelings consisted of peace and enlightenment. I felt hopeful and I have come to know Christ better.

How I live my faith

I'm a full-time missionary. I put my life on hold to come and serve God by teaching people about Christ and how His gospel, that same gospel he established, has been restored today. It has been the greatest decision I've made so far! I get to meet new people, learn new cultures, and become closer to God and Christ. It's a real humbling experience, and I have learned to accept myself more and see the potential that every one of God's children has. It's been difficult at times, but the happy memories outweigh the hard ones.
