Hi I'm Wendy

I am the oldest of 9 siblings and we have 5 children. I am glad that I know the importance of family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend. I enjoy reading, hiking, running, watching cooking shows and attending the temple.

Why I am a Mormon

I am thankful for a living prophet that receives revelation to direct the church. He receives direction for us here in our time. My life is greatly blessed by following the prophet. I am a Mormon because I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth.

How I live my faith

Serving in the gospel is what keeps me motivated and happy in life. I currently have the opportunity to work in the women's organization of the church. Serving with them makes me happy I also live my faith by doing Visit Teaching. I have been assigned to visit with 3 ladies in our congregation. We become friends in the gospel as we visit each month and share experiences. I try to give service to them when I can to make their lives better. In turn, that makes my life better. I love them.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Wendy
Our family has been blessed from paying tithing. We have had people ask how we have been able to provide for our family with just one income and a school teacher income! They seem surprised. We even have nice things! We are not surprised. Heavenly Father blesses us. Everything we have has been given to us by our loving Heavenly Father. It is only a small portion that he asks in return. It is a blessing to pay tithing. We strengthen our faith. We are helping build up the kingdom of God. We receive blessings by keeping the commandment to give just one tenth. An example of how easy it should be to pay tithing is one that I share with my children at Family Night. I give them a bag of M&M candies. I ask them in return to give me one tenth. They can see that I gave them all and that I only ask for a small amount back in return. They see how easy it is to give just a tenth. Just like Heavenly Father has given us all and only asks for a tenth. Show more Show less
