Hi I'm Lindsey

I'm an adventurous Political Science major who loves music and Mexican food, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter of my loving parents and a sister to one sister and two younger brothers. I've lived out east my entire life, and dream of moving west one day. I share my special talents and blessings I have been giving through photography, music, and missionary work. I play tennis, volleyball and soccer (some more than others.) I'm continuing to improve my skills in American Sign Language and help interpret during church. I love going on any kind of adventure where I can try new things, and meet new people!

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the Mormon church, but that doesn't mean I do not have my own conversion story. My entire life I have always had the church as a foundation, but I cannot say that I haven't had times when I have doubted what I knew to be true because I was not being constantly reminded. During times of trial I would doubt the truth. I would pray for heavenly father to give me a sign so that I would know if the gospel was true. Often times, nothing would happen. I would be left wondering why he would not give my clarity. I didn't realize then that that is not how heavenly father works. He wants us to act on the faith that we have, and not rely on his constant reminders. In Alma 32:17-18, it says "yea, there are many who do say: If thou wilt show unto us a sign from heaven, then we shall know of a surety; then we shall believe. Now I ask, is this faith? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for if a man knoweth a thing he hath no cause to believe, for he knoweth." This scripture is my conversion story. I spent most of my life waiting for these signs, that, in the end, would not increase my faith in Christ, rather then building on what I know to be true. I still feel little reminders that I am a daughter of god, and that I have a much larger purpose in his kingdom of heaven, but no longer do I rely on them. I rely on my faith, and my father in heaven who loves me. I know my heavenly father knows everything I am feeling. I have felt his comfort in my times of despair. I know that my loving brother Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for me, and that is why I will be able to live in heaven once more. I testify that the book of Mormon is true, and all those who seek to understand it with pure hearts and good intent will know of this truth also. these are things I cannot deny, because they are a part of me, and because I have been more blessed by them then I will ever be able to understand. This is my testimony, and I bare it to you in the name of our savior, Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I am the class president of my class in my young woman's group. I help plan fun activities that we do for youth group. outside of church, I try to share this truth that I know with others, because I want them to have the same blessings I have. I am currently preparing to serve a mission for the church so that I can spread the blessings of this gospel even further. I constantly try to show others Christlike kindness, and I try to serve others anyway I can. "when you are in the service of others, you are in the service of your god."
