Hi I'm Hannah Avery

I love the Gospel! I am serving as a full-time missionary. I love life because I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! My name is Hannah. I was born in Logan, Utah in 1993 to an amazing mom (a covert to the church) with a lot of faith in the future. She later married my dad, who was also a convert to the church, but met my mom while serving his mission in Virginia. Our family has moved along countless times all over the country, adding on 6 more kids along the way. I have the most incredible family on the planet, all active in the church with strong testimonies and bright futures ahead. My brother after me is currently on a mission in Lima Peru. He has such a great personality and spirit, and is such an example to me! All of my siblings are truly examples to me. They make me want to be a better person everyday. I grew up for the most part in Maryland, but we currently live in Utah. I played Lacrosee for 10 years, and absolutely loved it! I have been on and off with college, but when I get home from my mission to Vina del Mar Chile, I plan to have a career in the Nursing field. I love life and can't wait for everything in store for me in my lifetime!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because my life without the Gospel was never truly happy, and it never felt like I had a purpose. Since having more of a desire to learn the Gospel, and have really taken the time to find out for myself that this is what I wanted, I have had such a growth in my testimony, and have decided to go on a mission to share my happiness and the light of Christ with others who have not yet received it, or maybe have even lost that desire to have it in their lives over the years. I am so much happier in my life now! I have a testimony of eternal families, of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and that this Gospel is true. No one is perfect. We all have our faults and weaknesses. But through Jesus Christ and His Atonement, we can become clean and perfect in His eyes. There is nothing that we can't overcome. We just have to let go of our pride and decide if we are ready to become clean, and do His will. I myself have gone through that process, and it has only made my life better. Like I said, we are not perfect, but we can be, as long as we follow the Lords will, and really take upon ourselves the name of Jesus Christ everyday. Our light and example can help others find that happiness too. Sincere prayer and desire to do what is right is what it takes to get there. Our change of heart and desire to do His will will only make our lives happier, and more fulfilling. We can't do it alone, but the Lord is always there to help us, no matter what.

How I live my faith

Right now, I am serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Viña del Mar Chile. I have had opportunities teaching the Young Women in the Laurel class, cleaned the temple multiple times, and have been able to go through the temple with family, friends and even by myself. I have had so many amazing experiences in the past few months that I never thought I would have. And that will only continue in the future!

What is faith?

Hannah Avery
Faith is a beautiful thing! Having faith is the first step that we have to take to come unto Christ. Having faith means that we believe in things and hope for things that are not seen, which are true. When we hope for things and have faith that things will happen, we are putting our full trust in the Lord. Once we have put our faith in Him, we can rely on Him to make our paths straight, to strengthen us in our day to day lives, and to help us in times of need/trial. It is not always easy to have faith in things that we cant see, or cant know of a surety. But if we trust in the Lord with all our hearts, and rely on Him to let us know what His will is for us, we will always receive the answers and truths that we are searching for. Open your heart and your mind to the will of the Lord for you. Once you do that, pray with a sincere heart and wait for the Lord to testify to you the things that you desire to know and have in His own due time. Have faith that everything will work out, even when it is hard. There is never a time too late to have faith. Start now. Live you life in accordance to the Lords will and commandments, and believe that He will direct your paths and help you in all things. Show more Show less
