Hi I'm Nathan Swallow

I grew up in the western United States, I love to play the trumpet and soccer, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born in Utah but grew up in Washington. When my parents divorced when I was 9 we moved back to Utah to be around family. I play the trumpet and I love music, especially ska. I graduated high school this past year and I plan on going to college after my mission. I love to play sports with my friends and to be outside.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. However, when my parents divorced it was really hard on me and I turned to sources which were completely against the teachings of the church to find comfort, but I didn't find any. I would still go to church with my mom, but I resented being there. After years of being absolutely miserable I wanted to change how I live and repent, I wanted to be happy like all my friends were, but I felt like I could never receive forgiveness because of how bad I had been for the past 6 years. I was reading the Book of Mormon one night, which was a rare occasion, and I had an overwhelming feeling that God loved me, and that he wanted me to be happy. I texted my bishop around midnight that night asking for a meeting ASAP. Since that time I have found that the Lord is willing to help any one who will come and confess their sins to Him. It has been a hard road coming back into the church and completely repenting, but I can wholeheartedly say it is worth it and I would not change it for anything. I love this gospel, and I know that as we live the way God wants us to live that he will bless us and we will be happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by the way I act and treat other people. I believe that is the best way to show how the gospel has impacted my life. I home-teach 4 families in my ward, whether they are LDS or not. My home-teaching companion and I try to visit all 4 families each month to make sure they are doing alright and not in need of anything. I am also preparing to serve a full time mission for the lord to invite people to come unto Christ and to let them feel the joy and the happiness that I have felt from living the gospel.
