Hi I'm Brian Carter

Basketball is my favorite sport; I like the way they dribble up and down the court. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Charleston, West Virginia. I just graduated high school from Provo High School in Provo, Utah in 2013. I have an academic scholarship to Brigham Young University in Provo, which is where I will be attending after I complete my Mission. I don't know for sure what I will be yet but I love building things, designing buildings, physics, and math, so I know that there is a pretty wide range of things I can do. I love all sports and anything outdoors. I play golf regularly with my dad, which has helped us to grow really close. I love to be around other people and just have fun! I love my family and can't wait to see them in two years when I go back home.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Heavenly Father. I know I was created in His image and that He loves me perfectly. I love His Son, Jesus Christ. I know that He is my Redeemer and that He suffered for my sins and shortcomings, along with all of my pains, afflictions, and sorrows. I know that through the Atonement of Christ we all can repent of all the things we have done wrong and that we can change and become true disciples of him. I have faith in Christ, I repent through His Atonement daily, I have followed Jesus Christ's example and have entered into the covenant of baptism by someone holding the proper Priesthood Authority of God, I have received the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands by those in authority, and I try to rely on the promptings I get from the Spirit in all of my decisions, and I am striving to live the way I am and become better for the rest of my life. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or the Mormon Church, is the way to, through faith, repentance, baptism, the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end, gain salvation. That is why I am a Mormon. I have felt the Atonement's power in my life as I have overcome some damaging habits. It is amazing to me how that can be wiped away and I can become clean again through faith and repentance. I strive to follow the covenants I made at baptism and through the promptings and sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost I know that I can do that for the rest of my life. This gospel is everything to me.

How I live my faith

I am currently devoting two full years as an LDS Missionary and helping others come unto Christ. I am working every day to help people improve their lives, and mine improves as I do that. My goal is to share the joy that I have in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that people's lives can be improved dramatically with that joy that I have and that I am trying to share. I am trying to be like the Savior, which means devoting my life to service. While I am always falling short of that I am trying my best to truly follow him and become a more perfect disciple of my Redeemer and Savior Jesus Christ.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Brian Carter
We believe that God is a supreme, all-powerful being but also our Father in Heaven. This means that the same God who rules this universe and all the stars and planets and other extraordinary things in this universe has the attention that a father would to his children. Even more than that He knows us perfectly and loves us perfectly. We are created in His image, which means that he has a physical body like us. However, his body is perfected, immortal, and glorified. He has a plan for each us us to be able to enjoy that blessing of having a perfect, immortal, and glorified body like him as well as the perfect and full happiness that He has and, as if that is not enough, to be able to return and live with Him after this life. I know that God loves us! Show more Show less
