Hi I'm Jamie Lin

I am a daughter. I am a singer. I am a reader. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a singer. I like to read, knit, and listen to music. I have a goal to read the Book of Mormon 500 times. My favorite thing to do is to read. I enjoy teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and sharing what I've learned with others. I plan to study music and religion at college. I have 5 sisters and one brother. I love my family and I am technology challenged.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon (1) because I was blessed to be raised in a Mormon Latter Day Saint family (2) because I know that it is the true church because God has given me that knowledge through the Holy Ghost and (3) because I know that this is the path that I need to be on to gain eternal life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by CPR. Church, Pray, Read My Scriptures. When I use these tools I can see what God wants me to do with my life and I am able to follow Gods will accordingly. I do my best to put into practice what I learn by following the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I love to learn about the scriptures and from the scriptures.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Jamie Lin
A restoration was needed to help to restore the organization of the church back to the way it was when Christ set it up on the earth. The restoration was necessary to teach us that the heavens are not closed, that God talks to us his children and that he will speak to us in any way he sees fit. God is not limited to only one time frame to only one method. He works through prophets, apostles, scriptures and through personal revelation. We honor the Bible as the word of God and treat it as such. We also know that it is not his only words to his children. For we know God is not a respecter of persons and loves his children equally. He spoke then and he speaks now. That is why we needed a restoration to restore us to the truth that leads us to God. Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Jamie Lin
Some call Mormonism a cult because human nature teaches us to fear what we do not understand. Because we are different from much of the world in our habits, standards, and culture. Its very similar to trying something new for the first time. You are unsure of what to expect, you don't want to be embarrassed, or you are afraid of getting hurt. When you are faced with something new you begin to fear. Its only when you confront your fears and begin to study it out in your mind and heart that you can over come your fear. We are Christians and we desire to bring all unto Christ in thought, word and deed. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Jamie Lin
A testimony is telling what one knows to be true. We share our testimonies so that others can know that we believe in God the Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and that God reveals truth to us today through a living prophet who leads us today in the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. We know that His gospel is real and true, and it is eternal and never changing. What needs to be done is after we know that the gospel is true and we have our own testimony we must then be true to the gospel. I know that Heavenly Father and his Son the Savior Jesus Christ lives and that He has called prophets to lead and guide us today. That is my testimony. Show more Show less
