Hi I'm Ali

I grew up in Utah. I'm a swimmer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm nineteen years old and I'm going to college. I started in the fall last year, I was nervous about college but it wasn't really anything to be nervous about because it turned out to be a great experience. I won't be attending this fall though because I'll be leaving for a mission in October. So in preparation for that I started a new job. But along with my new job, I've taken on some side jobs such as teaching kids how to swim and babysitting. I'm busy but I still take time to be with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know this church is true. I grew up in Utah but my family wasn't active members in the church so I didn't always know. In fact I almost wasn't baptized when I was younger until I told my parents I wanted to. But even after that we weren't active. Eventually my mom decided it was time to come back to church she made that decision around the time I turned ten. So my mom and sister went to church. But I didn't go and my dad didn't either. One day though I went to a youth activity called Young Women's with my sister because I wanted to know where she went every Wednesday. So that was my first time really doing anything with the church and I had fun. So when I got old enough to go the youth activities I started going every week, soon though I wanted to see more of the people that I played with on Wednesdays so I started going to church. Eventually I wanted to know more, so I read the Book Of Mormon when I was fourteen for the first time with encouragement from my seminary teacher in ninth. I didn't finish it that year but the next when I was in Tenth and in High school for the first time because we were studying the Book Of Mormon that year. After reading it I finally had a knowledge that the church was true and ever since then I've built up my faith and knowledge of the church.

How I live my faith

I'm a nursery worker in my ward, so I get to play with the little kids in the ward and teach a mini a lesson to them every week before they have snack time. I love listening to their answers during the lesson. I love hearing them trying to teach the other kids about what they learned during their family home evening. It really fun working with all of those little children.
