Hi I'm Ashlee

I was born in Provo, UT. I am enjoying the journey of life as I strive to be more like my Savior Jesus Christ! And I am a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Provo, Utah. I ventured away when I moved with my husband to his home town of Las Vegas, NV for him to attend UNLV and get his masters degree. I loved the heat and the blue sky that Vegas always had. I loved being outside of Utah and experiencing the gospel. I also grew to appreciate all that I took for granite growing up in Provo and feel blessed that I was able to move back home to be by all my family. We currently live in Highland, Ut. I am a mom of 4 and love it despite its challenges. I feel blessed to have 3 handsome sweet boys and 1 gorgeous, determined girl. I have been married for 18 years... WOW! ...that makes me sound old! I love my husband and find the greatest joy being married and raising a family together with the gospel as our foundation. I love gardening! I love watching birds especially those that visit my garden. I am definitely an animal lover and feel that they are a gift from God. Having them in our home brings joy to our family and teaches us to appreciate and love all small things. I love art and dream of being an artist and illustrator. I love to read and would love to write a book. I enjoy being home, watching movies with my husband and chatting with good friends!

Why I am a Mormon

My mom and dad are Mormon. I grew up in the church, was baptized at 8 and was married in the temple. I lived a pretty common life as most others growing up in Provo, Utah. Except... I was blessed to have a mother who had a burning testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ. Because she lived the gospel and testified of it daily... I was prepared early on with experiences of my own where the Holy Ghost testified to me of the reality of our Savior Jesus Christ and the great love He and our Heavenly Father had for me. I came to know for myself what I needed to do to experience the miracles and blessings that come when you know who you are but most importantly WHO'S you are. I too have a burning testimony that directs my life. My joy and my peace comes from the love I feel as I draw closer and closer to my Savior. I am constantly seeking his guidance. I am always in need of his forgiveness and love. It is because of Him that I keep moving on... despite how hard it can be with all my weaknesses... I believe in His promises and I feel of His love. I find all this being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I have been serving in the primary for the last 17 years as a Nursery Leader, Primary Teacher, Chorister, Presidency Member and most recently Primary President. I love being with the children! I love bonding and building relationship with each of them... I love to be silly and playful but find the greatest joy comes when I am teaching them and can feel that the spirit is present and they are feeling it and coming to know for themselves of the love our Heavenly Father has for them. My testimony grew and my ability to love increased as I served in the primary over those sweet spirits! I am now serving in the calling of my dreams as a Sunday School teacher over the 12 yr. olds with my husband. The serving with my husband is the calling of my dreams part! I am also a visiting teacher and am blessed to have the opportunity to build relationships as I reach out each month to teach and love those sisters I have been called over.

What is the First Vision?

I have come to know for myself through study, prayer and divine personal confirmation that Joseph Smith did himself through study, prayer and the scriptures receive divine guidance to ask God himself to know what church he should join. “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5). And when Joseph did go in prayer to with a sincere heart to know of these things that our Eternal Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ really did appear and visit with the boy Joseph. He became the instrument in bringing back the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know God loves us! I know that he visits with us today just as he did with ancient prophets and just as he did with Joseph Smith. He will continue to guide us and give us light and knowledge so that we may continue in His light and be again with him someday. I am grateful to know of and be a member of Christs Church that has been restored once again to this earth. Because I know this I also know who I am and how much God loves and cares for me!
