Hi I'm Leo Duren

I'm a husband, father of 3, and a bilingual (English/Spanish) Recruiter. I study Biblical Hebrew, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm often told that I have too many hobbies, but family life has helped change all that. I love gardening (something our boys love participating in), playing guitar, reading, running long distance (two marathons, to date), and studying every language under the sun. Foreign languages have been a bridge of discovery to me over the years to give me a deep appreciation of other cultures. At the end of the day, the thing I love most is coming home to spend time with my wife and children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was initially converted as a teenager while reading a copy of the Book of Mormon at home during the summer vacation between my sophomore and junior years of high school. I had hardly begun reading the introduction when the Holy Spirit's warm influence filled my chest, creating a feeling of great love and joy within me. I had read parts of the book before on many occasions, but never with such a resulting outpouring of the Spirit. I love our religion. Through it the Savior has provided us with clear answers to the most important questions that we face in life, like "What's the meaning of life?" and "What awaits us after we pass on?" The organization of the Lord's Church provides its members with various opportunities to provide meaningful service.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith daily by doing my best to follow the Golden Rule, learn about our Savior, and communicate with my Heavenly Father regularly through prayer. As I make consistent efforts to stay close to Him, I notice His Spirit with me regularly throughout the day, teaching me and reminding me of the eternal goals that I'm focused on - to be the best husband and father that I can and to slowly become more like our Lord.
