Hi I'm Kimberly Mills

I'm a sister, daughter, wife, and mother. I'm from Logandale, Nevada and I'm a Mormon!!

About Me

My name is Kimberly Jenson Mills. I have been married to my husband for almost 21 years. We were married in the Los Angeles Temple and now have four beautiful daughters. I graduated with a bachelor's degree n elementary education 20 years ago and taught 5 years of school before deciding to stay home with my children. I love being a mom. My absolute favorite thin in this whole world is music. I have played the piano since I was 6 years old. I begged my mom to give me lessons and I would get up early each morning to practice waking everyone up. I have taught piano lessons for 15 years and love doing it. Piano is passion of mine. I have been singing since I was a young children. I have been a soloist and in audition choirs my whole life. I was in a show choir in high school and then in Concert Chorale at Ricks College (BYU Idaho). I also love to read. Along with practicing the piano each morning when I was young, I would also spend time reading. Once I start a good book, I have a hard time putting it down. Reading is also a passion I share with my husband. We often spend time together reading our books.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the church and was baptized when I was 8 years old. I have never doubted the church or its teachings, but I had to search and pray for myself in order to gain my own testimony. I was about 18 years old when I took a Book of Mormon class at what was then Ricks College. I studied and prayed a lot that year about what I was learning. I remember giving a talk in church about the Book of Mormon. As I gave that talk, I was overwhelmed by the spirit that told me the Book of Mormon was true. I know without a shadow of a doubt the Book of Mormon is true, the people in the book are real people, and that Joseph Smith who translated the book is a real prophet of God. I know that I have a Heavenly Father. I know he is aware of me. I know he loves me and cares about me. I know he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for me that I might return to live with him. I know Jesus is real. I am thankful for his atonement that I might repent and become clean in order to return to his kingdom someday. I know Joseph Smith saw God the Father an his son Jesus Christ. I also know that he translated the Book of Mormon and that he restored the only true church on this earth. I know we have a true and living prophet on the earth today, even President Thomas S. Monson. I know that he is called of God to guide us. I am thankful for the plan of salvation and the knowledge I have to guide me through life. I know that the knowledge I have makes me a better person. Because I am happy, I can help others to be so as well. I will be eternally grateful to my parents and leaders who taught me these same principles. I hope that as a mother and teacher I can help my own children and the children I serve in the church understand how important the gospel is. I am thankful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by how I serve in my church and community. I participate in my community through my music. I have often played for the music programs at the elementary school and i often substitute for the music teacher at the school. I enjoy spending time with the children in our community. I also have served in our primary organization ages 3-11. I served in the age group for 7 years. My goal was to help teach them values and to gain stronger testimonies of their beliefs. I now serve in the young women's organization of 12 to 17 year olds. I am specifically over the 12 and 13 year olds. I love working with these girls because they are so excited about life and about growing up. I am in charge of teaching these girls principals and skills so that they can be married in the temple and be good mothers someday. I am also a visiting teacher. I have three ladies I have the privilege to serve and to get to know. they have become my friends through my service to them and I love them very much. My three ladies are all converts to the gospel in the last three years. They have reminded me through their conversion how important Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are in my life.
