Hi I'm Saul

I'm from a family of five. I play sports. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Primarily, I'm a college student; I am currently studying mechanical engineering with a minor in international development but might possibly change into accounting. I have worked in many occupations during my life: Semi-truck washer, factory worker, and carpenter just to name a few. I love playing sports of all sorts but have a special love of tennis, basketball and racquetball. I am a convert to the church and that is one of the best decisions I have made in my life

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young I felt that I had life figured out and that everyone else was doing it wrong. In my late High School years I felt unhappy and unsatisfied with life. As I saw I couldn't control what happened to me, I finally accepted that I wasn't the master of my own destiny, and that I wasn't the center of the Universe. I was introduced to the church because of my friend Jeremy who needed me to go speed dating with him during a church activity and a girl who sparked my interest in learning more about the Gospel. I later started taking lesson with the missionaries. After some missionary discussions, I realized that it would not be girls or my friends who could force me into the church. It had to be voluntary, I had to gain a testimony of what the church taught, and what it stood for. Life is hard and it continues to get more difficult as time progresses. I wanted to believe in something bigger than me. I wanted to have a secure feeling and surety that everything would be okay. One night, I came across my favorite scripture of all time 2Nephi 31:20-21. “Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life. And now, behold, my beloved brethren, this is the away; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end.“ At that moment I felt the spirit bring me peace and comfort above all else I had felt before in my life. I knew God was the answer to my problems and that the Book of Mormon was true. Because of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, I knew that the church was also true. I was later baptized by my friend.

How I live my faith

In church I have had many opportunities to serve my fellow men and woman. I have had the opportunity to serve as an instructor of doctrine as well as the one of the leaders of the Sunday School. It has been one of the best opportunities I have been afforded. As an instructor, one gains much knowledge from preparation and study but gains so much from the people in the congregation. We all know something and if we are willing to share our bit of understanding with everyone we can acquire a fountain of knowledge.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Missionaries share a very special message. It consisits of how God is and that every person is a child of God, he loves us and wants to bless us. God shows the way he will help us and our families through profets, or chosen messanges of God. The missionaries share their knowledge of Jesus Crist, his gospel, and his plan for us. Most importantly they share how we can know for ourselves that it is true. Show more Show less
