Hi I'm Jonah

I was raised in South Dakota. I love Heavenly Father. I'm preparing to serve a mission in Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a reader, a writer, a tennis player, a cyclist, and a lover of music. From a young age my passion for reading has made me very interested in the human imagination. When I'm not reading or writing, you're likely to find me on the tennis court or out on the open road on my bicycle. The peace and quiet that mother nature can provide has always drawn me away from the hustle and bustle of big city life. I've recently taken upon backpacking and have found great joy in the mountains of California on the Pacific Crest Trail. Adventure draws me like a moth to a flame and I'm always excited to try something new. I'm excited to shortly travel to Brazil on the errand of the Lord to serve a full time mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Like every individual around the world I had a strong desire to find happiness and meaning in my life. I was raised as a Mormon but as I grew up and began to view the world independently of my parents I recognized that it was time for me to discover for myself whether the LDS church was the true church on this earth. My answer didn't come easily, but that was a good thing, and it helped me to act upon my faith rather than just wait for answers. I committed to Heavenly Father that I would read my scriptures and say my prayers everyday so that I might draw closer to him and know for myself whether the gospel was true. That was close to a year and a half ago, and it is impossible to describe how much my life has changed since that time. I love Jesus Christ and his atonement, and I know that it is only through his sacrifice that we can be made whole and free ourselves from our weaknesses and sins. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that if we actively seek for a knowledge of Gods plan for us, we can gain a testimony of the words within this miraculous book. In a relatively short amount of time the gospel has become a defining aspect of my life. I have a testimony of each of the principles of the gospel that continues to grow each day. I find comfort in knowledge that through the atonement and Gods infinite mercy we can find out salvation. Christ is my redeemer and celestial glory is my goal!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing the gospel through word and deed. I've had the honor of serving my fellow brothers in the gospel by serving as a leader of various age groups. I love spending time with good and humble young men and take every opportunity to enjoy the spirit of righteous Latter Day Saints. Over the years I've had several great opportunities to serve my community as a member of the Mormon church. I recently had the chance to help in the cleanup of flood that left many families homeless. I know that great blessings come when we put our shoulders to the wheel and do our part to help those in need.
