Hi I'm Kendall Jones

I'm a Californian who is involved in everything. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with a large family of boys. My dad married my step-mom in 1998 and each had three boys. I am the youngest of those six boys. Because I was the youngest, I was not only slightly bullied by my brothers but I was also kind of spoiled. My dad thought because of certain hardships that we had had that it would be good to get me involved and keep me busy. To sum things off, I ended highschool as a four-year varsity swimmer, a three-year lineman for the football team, a varsity wrestler, a varsity cross country runner, a band kid, a choir kid, an AP math student, and a math student. On the swim team, I swam butterfly and the 200 IM mostly because no one else wanted to, but it does not mean that I did not perform well. I got my 100 butterfly time down to a 1:08.00 and my 200 IM time down to a 2:26.00. For cross country, I was able to run a 5k in under 20 minutes (I was the slowest varsity runner...). Because of my musical experience and math intelligence, learning new instruments comes quickly and excitedly. Currently, I can play the piano, guitar, French horn, trumpet, marimba, xylophone, general drums, quads, and steel drums. It is all so much fun!! Math is my biggest forte. I received many mathematical awards at my highschool and was recognized many times as the best math student at my school. I received a 790 on my SAT math section and 5's on both the Calculus A and the Calculus B AP tests. Right now, I am serving a mission for my Savior in Brazil!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I realize that only through a Church like this can men be saved unto salvation of their souls. I know that there is a God who loves each and every one of us. As my family keeps losing numbers, I am reminded of that love and of His plan for each of us as I feel their love and His promise to see them again shortly. I know that I will receive that same privilege with my family so that I may live forever in love and happiness. God is good.

How I live my faith

My father recommended that the best way for me to retain my faith after high school was to go to a school that has been blessed by God. Thus, I am currently a student at Brigham Young University. I am a senior with 92 credit hours as a 19 year old. I was just accepted into the Mechanical Engineering Program and am looking forward to resuming my academic progress there. I also have a wonderful girlfriend who I was able to meet there. She and I are planning on staying together as I serve a full-time, two year mission in Curitiba Brasil for the Church and as she also serves a full-time mission. I am so glad that I have been blessed so much because of the small decisions that led to me where I am now: on a mission with a wonderful family and a best friend who understands me like no other right there beside me through the whole thing. I live my faith by continually thanking my God for the beautiful blessings that envelope my life. I am a Mormon by reminding people that without religion, without some higher being, there would be no happiness, hope, or future.
