Hi I'm Savanna

I wrote a book of inspirational short stories. I traveled to Tanzania to work in a school and a hospital. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children, and I love being at home with my family. I enjoy reading, writing, painting, playing the piano and ukulele, singing, hiking and rollerblading. I recently spent an incredible five weeks in Arusha, Tanzania doing service work in a school and a hospital. My favorite places are my home, my grandma's farm, the mountains, and Zanzibar island off the coast of Tanzania.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love this gospel! All the happiness in my life is a result of being a member of Christ's church and living His gospel. I feel my Heavenly Father's love for me and I see His hand in my life every single day. I know this church is true. I know the true gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored through Joseph Smith. I know the Book of Mormon is a true record of God's dealings with His children, and that it was translated by the power of God. I know we have a living prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson, who receives counsel and instructions from God for our benefit. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior and the Son of God, and that He died for me because He loves me, and I can't wait to return and live with my family, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ someday. I love this gospel because it is TRUE! It gives me so much peace and happiness to know that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and I have a purpose here on earth. There are hard things that happen in life, but the gospel brings peace and joy through the good times and bad. I love this church!

How I live my faith

I have served as a class secretary once and class president twice in my Young Women's group. Now I am serving as a Beehive adviser (12-13 year old girls), a visiting teacher, and I am serving a mission this fall. I love feeling like I am a part of something important even though I am so young! My callings give me a sense of purpose and worth, and I feel encouraged to reach out and be a friend to everyone around me.
